Overview of the Role
Bending Markets for Flourishing Localities (BMFL) is dedicated to transforming underserved markets into thriving economic hubs. Central to this mission is fostering community-driven growth through a Market Compact, uniting CBOs, PRIs, and local authorities across development blocks in India’s economically challenged regions. WoW (Work-Opportunity-Wellbeing) Hubs serve as platforms for BMFL to experiment with and showcase sustainable market solutions catalysing place based economic opportunities for youth/women. This approach aligns with and draws support from Public Policy in Action (PPiA) and Community Action Labs (CAL). The Associate Practitioner/ Practitioner in BMFL is a pivotal coordinator, driving market transformation alongside community institutions, Panchayats, and local governance, while collaborating with a dedicated team of development experts.
Job Description
• Facilitate and support mass entrepreneurship initiatives by identifying and nurturing potential entrepreneurs at the community level.
• Design and implement solutions to establish robust entrepreneurial support systems at block and district levels.
• Develop processes, tools, and SoPs for effective engagement with women and youth, ensuring inclusivity and participation.
• Build, strengthen, and manage partnerships with government, private sector, and civil society actors at block, district, and state levels.
• Curate, aggregate, and expand economic opportunities to enhance rural employment, with a strong focus on women and youth.
• Prepare high-quality reports, analysis, and learning documents to capture impact and share insights.
• Create engaging presentations and documentation for diverse stakeholders to strengthen visibility and advocacy.
• Work effectively in a matrix structure, demonstrating strong teamwork, adaptability, and alignment with organizational values.
• Should be able to mentor and support community-embedded WoW Hub staff, strengthening their capacity to effectively deliver employability and entrepreneurship services.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure timely and effective program implementation.
Required & Preferred Qualifications
Skill
Hands on experience on skilling/employment and entrepreneurship domain will be an extra advantage
Willingness to travel to remotest areas will be required
Education
Graduates with 2-3 years of relevant work experience (for AP) and Post Graduate with 5+ years of experience (for Practitioner) in livelihoods with community collectives
Experience
Experience of working in development/social sectors including government agencies with multiple offices will be preferred
