Overview of the Role

The role involves supporting the Global Research Climate and ESG team by building and maintaining a comprehensive database on climate change and ESG topics across sectors and regions. Key responsibilities include analyzing ESG and sustainability performance of companies, identifying themes that influence security prices and investment decisions, and tracking emerging trends through detailed policy and country-specific research. The position requires benchmarking ESG issues across industries, maintaining historical records of corporate actions and regulatory events, and producing insightful reports such as industry thematic studies, policy reviews, and sector or country analyses.

Job Description

• To be an integral team member of the Climate and ESG team within Global Research:
• Maintain an exhaustive database on Climate change and ESG for a range of topics and sectors identified for the purpose
• Identify and analyze Climate and ESG themes that can have material impact on the prices of securities and investment decisions
• Analyze the ESG/sustainability performance of companies / sectors
• Provide insightful analysis on climate & ESG issues across sectors and regions
• Undertake detailed policy and country specific research on Climate and ESG themes
• Benchmark ESG themes within/across different sectors and identify emerging trends
• Maintain a long-term historical record of corporate actions/ events, litigations, penal actions by the government, etc. for each company

Education

MBA (Finance) / MSc in economics/ Master's degree with specialization in Environment or Sustainability

1-5 years of experience preferably in Environmental, Social and Governance research or sustainability
