Kalike is an associate organization of the Tata Trusts, Kalike operates in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Through direct field engagement, Kalike strives to facilitate deep, large-scale and long-term impact on the quality of life through education (from early childhood to skill development), health and nutrition, and livelihood. Besides facilitating interventions in partnership with the state governments and other NGOs/Institutions, Kalike plays a critical role in providing monitoring services and technical support to Trusts partners; incubating new innovations/strategies, acts as a knowledge hub and works towards scaling up programs for long-term impact.


Overview of the Role


The Program Lead will be responsible for conceptualising, leading, and managing the Robust Early Learning Initiative (RELI) project. This includes program design, implementation, evaluation, and capacity building of team members and partner organizations. The role involves strategic oversight of grant management, team leadership, and stakeholder engagement. The Program Lead will ensure timely reporting, compliance with donor requirements, and effective documentation of project outcomes. Building strong partnerships with NGOs, government stakeholders, and national networks is key to positioning Kalike as a leader in the early learning space.

Job Description


• Lead the ‘Robust Early Learning Initiative’ (RELI) project in designing, implementation, and evaluation.
• Provide support to the implementation team through regular mentoring & supervision and monitoring of the programme.
• Build the capacity of program team and NGO functionaries/partners in early learning.
• Plan, design, organise and conduct trainings/workshops/capacity building programmes and mentoring support to teachers, team members and partners.
• Carry out field visits to oversee the implementation of the project activities.
• Oversee documentation of project activities in the form of reports, case studies, photos and
videos.
• Manage grant-related responsibilities, including donor compliance and oversight of onward
grants.
• Develop and manage Annual Work Plans for the team and ensure timely deliverables.
• Prepare and share quarterly, half yearly and annual project reports.
• Manage project Management Information System (MIS) and budget-related tracking and reporting.
• Manage diverse teams and partners.
• Closely work with key stakeholders including the Steering Committee of ELNI, partner NGO
teams and government functionaries.
• Position Kalike as a leader in the early learning domain by building national and regional relationships and credibility.


Required & Preferred Qualifications


Skill

Essential Skills & Knowledge:
• Domain expertise in early learning, specifically early language and literacy (school /
university teaching experience desirable).
• Written and verbal communication skills in English and one other Indian language
(Knowledge of Kannada desirable).
• Project Management skills, including team-management, monitoring & evaluation, outcome
tracking, report-writing, etc.
• Facilitation skills to conduct training and capacity building workshops.
• Advanced skills in MS Excel.

Education

Master’s or PhD degree in Education or Allied Social Sciences
