Overview of the Role


The Early Years team at Pratham is seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Content Associate-Early Years to support the development of high-quality educational content for children aged 3 to 6 years. This role is anchored within the Urban Anganwadi Model program which focuses on improving school readiness among young children in five urban geographies: Agra Lucknow Rampur Varanasi and Patna. The Senior Content Associate will be responsible for designing engaging developmentally appropriate and contextually relevant learning materials for Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) for children families and for Anganwadi workers/educators through in-service training modules. The content will support implementation in diverse urban settings and should reflect the varied cultural linguistic and socio-economic contexts of young learners. We are looking for individuals who have experience teaching or working with young children particularly in the early years education space. A strong foundation in child development principles creativity in content design and the ability to adapt materials for different delivery formats (print play-based and digital) are key to this role. Candidates proficient in using digital tools such as Microsoft Office Google Suite and other content creation platforms will be preferred. This position is ideal for someone who is committed to equity in early education and is excited to contribute to building scalable inclusive learning models for urban children.

Job Description


1. Content Development
• Review ECCE content textbooks and educational materials used in Anganwadis or government schools and in Pratham for teaching by evaluating its content structure and instructional effectiveness
• Contribute to the development of activities stories poems worksheets games and other required TLM related to all developmental domains
• Collaborate with other content developers trainers and teachers across various states at Pratham to brainstorm research and integrate pedagogical trends and best practices

2. Training and Capacity Building
• Contribute to the development of high-quality training material to train educators teaching in low-resource settings ensuring alignment with our learning outcomes and standards
• Build capacities of Pratham and Government teams across central and field locations through training
• Develop session plans and training modules for each training

3. Program Management
• Engage with government stakeholders in the department and support Pratham’s state teams to plan & implement existing projects and provide on-ground support
• Support with communications efforts to improve the visibility of Pratham’s early years programs – events collaborations conferences advocacy social media etc.
• Support relevant data collection to improve the design and implementation of projects
• Support documentation of early years programs for internal & external stakeholders
• Perform additional tasks as required by the management


Required & Preferred Qualifications


Skill

• Attention to detail with some experience in research content development or field-based studies is preferred.
• Proficiency in English and Hindi with excellent listening comprehension reading and writing skills in both languages
• Proficiency in using digital tools such as Microsoft Office (Word PowerPoint Excel) and Google Suite (Docs Slides Sheets).
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with sensitivity to working in diverse multi-lingual and multi-cultural contexts.
• Willingness to travel to program locations as required including field visits to urban Anganwadi centers and partner sites.

Education

Master’s degree in Education Child Development Psychology Social Work or a related field.

Experience

4 to 5 years of work experience in the education sector preferably with a focus on early childhood education or foundational learning. Strong understanding of Early Years education particularly for the 3 to 6 years age group including ECCE frameworks pedagogy and learning outcomes.
