Youll handle strategic advisory regulatory compliance contracts risk management litigation policy partnerships and tax/charity law. We need someone with strong knowledge of non-profit and Indian legal frameworks to support our social impact goals.
Job Description
- STRATEGIC LEGAL ADVISORY:
Providing expert legal counsel
Developing proactive legal strategies
Ensuring up-to-date knowledge of CSR laws
- REGULATORY COMPLIANCE & GOVERNANCE:
Ensure compliance with CSR regulations
Tax-exemption laws and reporting
Manage corporate governance
Advise on CSR best practices
- GRANT MANAGEMENT & CONTRACTS:
Oversee drafting reviewing and negotiating contracts
Ensure agreement compliance
Advise on due diligence
- RISK MANAGEMENT:
Identify assess and mitigate legal risks associated with CSR initiatives
Provide proactive legal solutions to minimize liability
- POLICY DEVELOPMENT & IMPLEMENTATION:
Identify assess and mitigate legal risks associated with CSR initiatives
Ensure internal policies promote transparency and ethical fundraising
- LITIGATION & DISPUTE RESOLUTION:
Oversee legal disputes and litigation
Manage external legal counsel
Develop alternative dispute resolution strategies
- CORPORATE PARTNERSHIPS & COLLABORATIONS:
Provide legal support for partnerships
Negotiate and manage partnership agreements
Ensure compliance with industry-specific regulations
- TAX AND CHARITY LAW COMPLIANCE:
Ensure adherence to all applicable charity laws and tax regulations
Advise on tax-efficient philanthropic strategies
- TEAM LEADERSHIP & COLLABORATION:
Lead and manage the legal department
Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth execution of CSR initiatives
Participate in strategic planning
Required & Preferred Qualifications
Skill
- In-depth knowledge of non-profit charity and CSR laws and regulations.
- Experience with corporate governance regulatory compliance and risk management in the non-profit sector.
- Strong drafting negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficient in contract law charity law and tax-exempt status management.
- Ability to provide strategic legal advice in a dynamic mission-driven environment.
Education
Advanced Legal Degree (e.g. LLM in Non-profit or Charity Law) or specialized certifications in CSR-related legal fields.
Experience
- Experience in CSR philanthropy or public policy. - Leadership: Proven experience in leading teams and working closely with senior management and trustees.
