Non-governmental non-religious non-political and non-profit making it works alongside people with disabilities whatever the context offering them assistance and supporting them in their efforts to become self-reliant. Since its creation the organisation has set up programmes in approximately 60 countries and intervened in many emergency situations. It has a network of eight national associations (Belgium Canada France Germany Luxembourg Switzerland United Kingdom USA) which provide human and financial resources manage projects and raise awareness of Handicap Internationals actions and campaigns.


Overview of the Role


Humanity & Inclusion (Handicap International) is seeking a highly skilled and mission-driven Regional Rehabilitation Specialist to lead and strengthen rehabilitation initiatives across the South Asia region. Based in Delhi this role will drive regional strategy program design and capacity-building efforts aligned with HI’s global rehabilitation frameworks. The specialist will provide expert technical guidance to integrate rehabilitation within national health systems lead multi-country projects and represent HI in advocacy and partnership development. Ideal for a seasoned rehabilitation professional with strong cross-country experience the role offers a unique opportunity to influence health systems and promote inclusive rights-based care for vulnerable populations.

Job Description


- Develop and implement regional rehabilitation strategies and action plans aligned with HI’s global frameworks.
- Strengthen visibility and influence of HI in the rehabilitation sector via active networking and advocacy.
- Provide technical support to integrate rehabilitation within health systems at national and regional levels.
- Design and lead multi-country and country-specific rehabilitation projects including fundraising.
- Lead professional capacity-building and mentoring of rehabilitation personnel across South Asia.
- Monitor project quality compliance with technical frameworks and ensure capitalization of learnings.
- Support innovation research and emergency preparedness in the rehabilitation sector.
- Promote local partnerships and consortiums on strategic rehabilitation themes.


Required & Preferred Qualifications


Skill

- Strong understanding of global rehabilitation standards legal frameworks and disability inclusion
- Proven track record in project design representation communication and partnership development
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills

Education

Master’s in Physiotherapy Prosthetics/Orthotics Occupational Therapy or related field with 5+ years of experience OR Bachelor’s in same fields with 7+ years of experience

Experience

At least 3 years in a senior technical rehabilitation role across multiple countries Experience in rehabilitation sector development professional capacity building and advocacy
