Overview of the Role
The Student Counsellor will be a key member of the Student Wellness Centre (SWC) at IIT Bombay a vital support system aimed at fostering the emotional psychological and mental well-being of students across all academic levels—from undergraduate to PhD. The counsellor will provide professional mental health support through individual counselling crisis intervention referrals and mental health education initiatives.
Job Description
• Provide a high-quality counselling service to all IITB students
• Schedule appointments interventions follow-ups referrals.
• Attend regular supervision with senior counsellors.
• Any other responsibilities as assigned by the institute.
Required & Preferred Qualifications
Skill
• Experience of working with adolescents.
• Experience of working with in residential academic institution
• Experience of handling crisis cases.
• Should have strong organizational and multitasking abilities good verbal and written communication skills
Education
MSc. / MA Psychology (Clinical Psychology / Counselling Psychology / Social Psychology/ Applied Psychology) in regular mode (not distance learning) with minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade point average
Experience
4 years of relevant experience after the qualifying degree in an academic or medical institution.
