Overview of the Role
As the Head of CSR at Wabtec India, you will play a key leadership role in driving the company’s social impact initiatives across multiple business entities and locations in the country. Anchored in Wabtec’s global values and commitment to “Caring for our Communities,” this role is central to conceptualizing, implementing, and monitoring strategic CSR programs that deliver meaningful community outcomes while ensuring full compliance with the Companies Act, 2013 and other regulatory frameworks.
Job Description
- Develop and implement CSR projects / initiatives aligned with Wabtec’s corporate social responsibility policy, business goals and Wabtec’s Caring for our Communities Principle.
- Identify community need, in collaboration with internal stakeholders to conceptualize impactful community development projects.
- Ensure CSR Committee / Board approval for projects in partnership with relevant internal stakeholders.
- Identify potential NGOs, perform due diligence and facilitate CSR project designing.
- Liaise with external stakeholders such as NGOs, academic institutions, community leaders, and government agencies to foster partnerships.
- Ensure compliance with legal CSR mandates under the Companies Act, 2013, other applicable laws and standards and best practices in corporate social responsibility.
- Track the CSR budget for various entities, maintain records, and report expenditures. Liaising with internal teams such as Sourcing, Finance, Legal, etc. to ensure timely CSR related payments & processes.
- Communicate CSR efforts internally to employees and externally to the public, media, and shareholders. Prepare content for social media, newsletters, and annual reports to highlight CSR achievements.
- Lead employee volunteering program across sites and offices in partnership with site level CSR Champions.
- Periodic review of project progress by calling reports, having review meetings and / or visiting project sites. Further, providing operation guidance to meet the strategic goal of the project.
