Overview of the Role
The Officer - Donor Community Engagement & retention will play a crucial role in building and maintaining strong relationships with our valued donors. This position is responsible for providing excellent donor engagement service, conducting donor research to identify potential opportunities, engaging with donors through proactive communication, and ensuring effective coordination across internal teams to deliver accurate and impactful project updates. The ideal candidate will be a highly organized, detail-oriented individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a genuine passion for our organization's mission.
Job Description
-Donor Engagement & relationship management:
Serve as the primary point of contact for donor inquiries and requests, providing timely, accurate, and professional responses. Address donor complaints and resolve issues efficiently and effectively
Coordinate with fundraising teams and backend teams to ensure donor database records are updated ensuring data accuracy and completeness and that the acknowledgement letters and receipts are sent timely
Conduct outbound calls to donors to build relationships, express appreciation, and provide updates on the impact of their contributions i.e. Thank you calls, special day wishing calls and Update calls (campaigns, project updates etc.)
Develop and maintain donor stewardship plans tailored to different giving levels
Proactively identify and address donor needs and concerns
Hold curated donor meet ups to give them experience of WaterAid’s work in India and also build their confidence
- Donor Data Research:
Analyse donor data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improved engagement and fundraising.
Develop and maintain donor profiles, capturing key information on their interests, giving history, and engagement preferences and pass it to relevant team leads and HOD to assist them in developing
- Donor Collateral Development Coordination:
Collaborate with the Communications team to develop compelling donor materials, including brochures, newsletters, annual reports, and online content.
Cultivate relationships with existing donors through personalized communication, including thank you notes, birthday greetings, and impact reports.
Provide input on messaging and content to ensure it resonates with the donor community and highlights the impact of their contributions.
Review and proofread donor materials for accuracy and clarity.
Coordinate with relevant stakeholder to get donation pages updated on website & campaign pages with compelling and accurate content & donation options.
Liaise with the communication team to gather updates on project progress, impact, and challenges
Coordinate with the communication team to utilize social media assets to create donor community and engage them for cross pollination, loyalty programmes and advocates
Consult and gather requirements from fundraising teams for developing campaign pages for different donor groups and coordinate with communication department for development of the same
Required & Preferred Qualifications
Skill
Graduation/Post-graduate in English/ Mass Communications/ Marketing from a reputed university/institute
Education
Between 1 to 5 years of work experience
