Overview of the Role
The Program Manager – Supply Chain Management at Digital Bharat Collaborative (DBC), an initiative of the Piramal Foundation, will play a pivotal role in strengthening and transforming public health supply chains to improve last-mile service delivery. Anchored in DBC’s mission to build Bharat through responsive governance and accelerated digital public systems, the Program Manager will lead key components of the supply chain vertical under the TMS project.
Job Description
- Lead and manage specific components or work streams within the supply chain management activities of the TMS project, ensuring alignment with overall project goals and timelines.
- Provide technical leadership and expertise in one or more key areas of supply chain management, such as strategic planning, procurement, warehousing, distribution, or information systems.
- Develop and implement detailed work plans, monitor progress against targets, and ensure timely delivery of outputs.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key government counterparts at the state and district levels, as well as with other relevant stakeholders.
- Provide high-level technical assistance and capacity building support to government officials and other partners on complex supply chain issues.
- Lead the assessment of existing supply chain systems, conduct in-depth analysis of challenges and opportunities, and develop evidence-based recommendations for improvement.
- Oversee the design and implementation of innovative supply chain solutions, including the adoption of new technologies and best practices.
- Manage and mentor a team of junior staff or consultants working on assigned workstreams.
- Contribute to the development of project proposals, reports, and presentations for donors and stakeholders.
- Represent the project in relevant forums, workshops, and meetings.
- Ensure compliance with project policies, donor requirements, and national/state regulations.
- Contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of project impact, including the development of performance indicators and the analysis of project data.
- Undertake regular field visits to project sites to oversee implementation, provide technical guidance, and troubleshoot issues.
- Perform any other tasks as assigned by the Senior Program Manager or Program Director.
Required & Preferred Qualifications
Skill
- In-depth understanding of supply chain management principles, strategies, and best practices, particularly within the public health sector.
- Proven experience in managing and implementing complex supply chain initiatives, with demonstrable results.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyze complex data and develop strategic recommendations.
- Excellent leadership, management, and team-building skills, with experience in mentoring and supervising staff.
- Exceptional communication (written and verbal), presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with high-level stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management software.
- Fluency in English and Hindi.
- Experience working on large-scale, donor-funded projects.
- Familiarity with digital health solutions and their application in supply chain management.
- Experience in developing and delivering training programs for government officials and other stakeholders.
- Knowledge of the public health system, policies, and programs in India.
- Experience in research and evaluation related to supply chain performance.
Education
Bachelor's degree or PGD in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Pharmacy, Public Health, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in public health system or supply chain management or in Pharmaceutical sector or related field - Demonstrated experience in managing teams and projects, including planning, budgeting, and monitoring. - Proven track record of successful engagement and collaboration with government agencies and other stakeholders.
