Overview of the Role


The Project Coordinator (PC) is responsible for overseeing and managing multiple Field Officers (FOs) to ensure the successful execution of the Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD) method and crop input sales. The PC plays a crucial leadership role in setting targets, tracking performance, providing strategic guidance, and ensuring smooth field operations. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in agricultural field operations, sales management, and team leadership.

Job Description


1. Leadership & Team Management:
• Supervise and support 4-5 Field Officers (FOs), ensuring they effectively manage their LRP teams.
• Set performance targets for FOs and monitor their execution of AWD implementation and sales goals.
• Conduct regular field visits to assess FO and LRP performance and provide hands-on guidance.
• Organize training programs to improve the technical knowledge and sales capabilities of FOs and LRPs.

2. AWD Implementation & Farmer Adoption:
• Ensure that FOs are effectively driving AWD adoption among farmers through their LRP teams.
• Monitor the quality of AWD installations and oversee the collection of Drydown evidence.
• Troubleshoot issues faced by FOs and LRPs in AWD adoption and provide strategic solutions.

3. Sales Management & Business Development:
• Drive sales targets for crop input products like pesticides, herbicides, etc through FOs and LRPs.
• Develop and implement sales strategies to increase farmer adoption of crop amendments.
• Organize village awareness meetings and farmer focus group meetings to promote sales.

4. Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
• Track and analyze key performance metrics for FOs and LRPs, ensuring targets are met.
• Ensure accurate data collection and submission by FOs and LRPs regarding AWD adoption and product sales.
• Provide weekly reports and insights to the Project Manager on field progress, challenges, and opportunities.

5. Problem-Solving & Conflict Resolution:
• Act as the escalation point for operational challenges faced by FOs and LRPs in the field.
• Develop solutions for farmer objections, AWD implementation challenges, and sales hurdles.


Required & Preferred Qualifications


Skill

• Team management, day to day operation management
• Understanding of agriculture and experience in farmer interactions
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and proactively.
• Travelling to production sites and market venues
• Must be proficient in Computers (internet, word and excel)

Education

Graduate qualification is essential. Qualifications in agriculture or related areas would be highly preferable.

Experience

3-8 years of relevant work experience in rural agriculture based projects
