Overview of the Role


The Capacity Building Specialist will be responsible for strengthening the skills and competencies of teams across different levels of the organisation to increase the staff capacities and competencies, including management, operational, professional, and soft skills. This role involves identifying skill gaps, developing training inventories, collaborating with resource groups/individuals, ensuring effective delivery of training programs, and assessing training outcomes. The specialist will implement capacity-building initiatives through structured training, mentoring, and coaching to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of Rise Against Hunger India’s programs.

Job Description


• Need assessments: Identify capacity gaps at various levels (management, operations, field teams, community leaders) and prioritize training needs.
• Training program development: Design, develop, and maintain a structured training inventory covering key capacity-building areas.
• Collaboration & resource mobilization: Work with expert resource groups, institutions, and trainers to develop and deliver training sessions.
• Training delivery: Organize and facilitate training programs, workshops, coaching, and mentoring sessions to enhance professional and operational skills.
• Soft skills development: Integrate leadership, communication, and team-building programs to strengthen interpersonal skills.
• Monitoring & evaluation: Establish mechanisms to track training effectiveness, assess learning outcomes, and improve future programs.
• Capacity enhancement strategy: Develop and implement a strategic roadmap for continuous capacity-building initiatives.
• Documentation & knowledge sharing: Maintain records of training sessions, learning materials, and impact reports to drive knowledge exchange within the organization.


Required & Preferred Qualifications


Skill

• Comprehensive capacity-building needs assessment report.
• Training modules and inventories addressing management, operational, professional, and soft skills.
• Regularly scheduled training and mentoring sessions across different levels.
• Partnerships with resource groups, subject matter experts, and trainers.
• Post-training impact assessment reports and feedback mechanisms.
• Structured coaching and mentoring frameworks.
• Documentation of best practices, learning materials, and capacity-building reports.
• Periodic evaluation reports with recommendations for continuous improvement.

Education

Master’s degree in human resources, social work, organizational development, training & development, or a related field.

Experience

Minimum 5–7 years of experience in capacity building, training, and professional development.
