Overview of the Role
PopulationCouncil Consulting (PCC) is seeking experienced Marketing & Business Development Lead to drive awareness, adoption, and long-term sustainability of a flagship digital initiative. The role combines demand-generation marketing with strategic business development to strengthen government alignment, expand provider participation (public and private), and build diversified financing through CSR, grants, and service contracts. The Lead will translate the initiative’s value proposition — including stage-specific user engagement and marketplace linkages — into measurable growth, partnerships, and scale across priority geographies such as Assam, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and beyond
Job Description
A. Growth Marketing & Product Positioning
Develop and execute a multi-channel marketing plan for pregnant/postpartum women, providers, and health system stakeholders—leveraging the WhatsApp based companion and insights from dashboards/feedback loops.
Lead campaign strategy (audience segmentation, messaging, creatives, onboarding/join flows). refine responsibilities without project name.
B. Partnerships & Business Development
Build and manage a pipeline with state/district health administrations, provider networks, private facilities, and CSR funders to embed to embed the digital solution swithin maternal health ecosystem strengthening.
Shape sustainable financing models (CSR sponsorships, service contracts, outcomes linked agreements, co funded pilots) and prepare concept notes, pitch decks, and submissions
C. Market Intelligence & Strategy
Map state wise opportunity (starting with Assam/MP/UP), and competitor landscape.
Translate insights from provider and user feedback loops into periodic growth strategy updates.
Required & Preferred Qualifications
Skill
• Strategic marketing and growth planning
• Business development and partnership management
• Negotiation and basic contract structuring
• Clear written and verbal communication
• Ethical, user-centered mindset with sensitivity to maternal and newborn health contexts
Experience
• 7–12 years of experience in growth marketing and business development within digital health, public health, or mission-driven technology environments; experience with WhatsApp-first products is an advantage. • Demonstrated success in securing institutional partnerships across government, CSR, and provider networks. • Strong storytelling skills (pitch decks, concept notes) and data-informed decision-making ability. • Fluency in English and Hindi, with willingness to travel to target states as required.
