Overview of the Role


The Project Coordinator (PC) will be responsible for overall planning, implementation, coordination, monitoring, documentation and reporting of the Promoting STEM Education projects. The position requires strong leadership, deep understanding of school operations, pedagogy, NEP 2020 & NCF frameworks and proven experience in working with government and government-aided schools.

Job Description


Project Implementation & Management –
• Lead end-to-end implementation of the project across all target schools in alignment with approved objectives, activities, and timelines.
• Prepare detailed annual and quarterly implementation plans, budgets, and work schedules.
• Ensure quality execution of Promoting STEM Education programs

Academic & System Strengthening –
• Provide academic leadership to STEM Mentors and Shiksha Sahayogis.
• Ensure alignment of all interventions with NEP 2020, NCF (Foundational & School Education) and state curriculum priorities.
• Support school head in planning and implementing school-level STEM promotion actions.

Stakeholder Engagement & Convergence-
• Coordinate with Block and District Resource Groups, education officials, DIETs, and school leadership.
• Facilitate convergence meetings, reviews, and joint monitoring visits.
• Build linkages with community stakeholders to strengthen STEM ecosystem and gender inclusion.

Monitoring, Documentation & Reporting-
• Establish and oversee a robust monitoring and mentoring framework for STEM education.
• Ensure high-quality documentation: lesson plans, training reports, case studies, best practices, and success stories.
• Prepare timely programmatic and donor reports, presentations and dashboards.

Team Management-
• Supervise and mentor STEM Mentors and Shiksha Sahayogis.
• Conduct regular review meetings, field observations and capacity-building sessions.


Required & Preferred Qualifications


Skill

• Demonstrated ability to work closely with government education departments, district/block officials, and institutional stakeholders.
• Experience in leading and managing large field teams, consultants, or partner organisations.
• Experience in teacher capacity building, pedagogy improvement, and curriculum implementation.
• Sound understanding of school operations, education systems, and policy frameworks, including NEP 2020 and National Curriculum Frameworks (NCFs).
• Experience in donor reporting, compliance, and coordination, including basic financial and programmatic documentation.
• Proficiency in Hindi and English (reading, writing, and verbal communication).
• Strong working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; comfortable with email, online meeting platforms, and digital coordination tools; with excellent documentation, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Education

Postgraduate degree in Education, Social Sciences, Science, or a related discipline; B.Ed./M.Ed. preferred.

Experience

8–10 years of progressive experience in planning, implementing, and managing education programmes, preferably within government school systems. Proven experience in project management, including planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting.
