About Vedanta Sesa Goa

Sesa Goa, a division of Vedanta Limited is India’s largest producer and exporter of iron ore in the private sector. The company is engaged in iron ore mining, pig iron production, met coke production, cement production, power. In India, the operations are spread across 5 states of Goa, Karnataka, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Odisha. Sesa was founded in 1954, as Scambi Economici SA Goa and since then, it has grown to be one among the top low-cost producers of iron ore in the country. During 1991-1995, it diversified into the manufacture of pig iron and metallurgical coke. Its ‘Value Added Business’ is the largest merchant pig iron manufacturer in India with the capacity of 0.8 MTPA and, generates clean and green energy through two waste heat recovery power plants using waste heat from BFG (Blast Furnace Gas) & COFG (Coke Oven Flue Gas). It has also developed indigenous and environment-friendly technology for producing high quality metallurgical coke. Sesa Goa is a pioneer in sustainable mining practices with a rich legacy of successful reclamation and rehabilitation of one of the largest open cast iron ore mine in Goa. Overview of the Role

Lead state-level policy advocacy and government engagement while coordinating with central authorities to support business growth. Build and maintain strong relationships with government bodies, regulators, and industry associations; track policy and legislative developments; secure incentives; represent the organization in external forums; collaborate on media advocacy; and benchmark best practices to advance organizational objectives.

Job Description

• Lead and manage policy advocacy initiatives at the state level and coordinate on matters concerning the central government.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, regulatory authorities & industry bodies to facilitate ease of doing business and support organizational growth.
• Engage and coordinate with key bureaucratic, political, and civil stakeholders to advance company objectives.
• Proactively monitor legislative developments, policy changes, and industry-specific updates to identify opportunities for business development.
• Work closely with government authorities to secure incentives and benefits for investments aimed at growth and expansion.
• Develop policy notes & keeping track of policy reforms
• Regular interaction with Industry associations & various Govt Departments to facilitate ease of doing business
• Represent the company in trade associations, industrial bodies, and relevant forums.
• Collaborate with the communications team to develop and implement media advocacy strategies aligned with company objectives.
• Benchmarking of best practices with Peer group companies.

Required & Preferred Qualifications

Education

MBA / B.E/ B.Tech /LLB/LLM/ Graduation/Masters in Public Policy.

Experience

12+ years of experience in Policy Advocacy/Corp. Affairs / Operations / Environment / Strategy or related domains.
