Overview of the Role


FOGSI is seeking an experienced and motivated professional to join its Program Enablement Unit for Project MUKTA (PEU-M) as Senior Project Manager. This role will be responsible for day-to-day leadership, execution, and management of Project MUKTA, ensuring timely delivery across cities, strong partner coordination, and high-quality program implementation. The Senior Project Manager will serve as the primary operational lead, translating strategy into execution and acting as the bridge between senior leadership and field teams.

Job Description


1. Program Leadership & Execution
• Lead the end-to-end implementation of Project MUKTA across all geographies
• Translate strategic guidance into actionable workplans, timelines, and milestones
• Track progress against targets, proactively identify risks, and implement corrective actions
• Ensure adherence to donor requirements, implementation protocols, and FOGSI standards
2. Team & People Management
• Directly manage Project Coordinators and City Coordinators
• Lead hiring, onboarding, capacity-building, performance reviews, and team well-being
• Establish clear governance routines, reporting structures, and escalation mechanisms
• Build a high-performing, motivated, and accountable program team
3. City-Level & Partner Management
• Oversee engagement with:
o FOGSI city societies
o Private hospitals and clinics
o Diagnostic and pathology partners
o Medical colleges and professional bodies

• Support resolution of operational, relationship, and implementation challenges at city level
• Ensure consistency and quality of engagement across all project cities
4. Program Planning, Monitoring & Reporting
• Develop and monitor detailed program plans, dashboards, and trackers
• Review data and field insights to improve implementation effectiveness
• Coordinate preparation of:
o Donor progress reports
o Internal reviews and leadership updates
o City-level performance summaries
• Work closely with MEL and research partners to integrate learning into program design
5. Financial Oversight & Compliance
• Oversee budget utilisation and timelines in coordination with:
o PEU-M finance coordinator
o FOGSI finance and governance teams
• Review fund utilisation statements and flag risks or deviations
• Support planning of fund requests, reallocations, and budget forecasting
6. Stakeholder & Senior Engagement
• Serve as the primary point of contact for operational coordination with donors and senior stakeholders
• Support Senior Advisor / Project Director in donor reviews, presentations, and strategy discussions
• Represent Project MUKTA at conferences, convenings, and high-level meetings as required
7. Knowledge Management & Continuous Improvement
• Ensure strong documentation of tools, learnings, SOPs, and best practices
• Promote use of MEL insights to refine program strategy and delivery
• Contribute to development of program guidelines, training materials, and knowledge products


Required & Preferred Qualifications


Skill

• Strong people management and stakeholder coordination skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, timelines, and donor reporting
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Willingness to travel as required

Education

Master’s degree in public health, social work, management, social sciences, or related fields

Experience

• 8–12 years of relevant experience, with at least 4–5 years in a program leadership or management role • Proven experience managing multi-city or multi-stakeholder programs, preferably in public or maternal health
