Overview of the Role
Lead government relations, regulatory compliance, and external stakeholder engagement for the Thermal Power Plant business unit. Manage permits and approvals, ensure environmental compliance, monitor policy changes, and represent the organization in high-level negotiations. Advise senior leadership, strengthen institutional reputation, align internal operations with regulatory requirements, and lead crisis response on regulatory or stakeholder matters.
Job Description
• Develop and implement comprehensive strategies for engaging with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and other external stakeholders to support the Thermal Power Plant’s operational and strategic objectives.
• Lead the process of obtaining and managing permits, licenses, and approvals required for the business unit’s projects and operations.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental regulations and standards, collaborating with internal teams to address any gaps or risks.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with government officials, bureaucrats, and politicians to facilitate smooth operations and project execution.
• Monitor and analyze regulatory developments and policy changes, providing strategic insights and recommendations to the leadership team.
• Represent the Thermal Power Plant business unit in high-level discussions and negotiations with external stakeholders to secure favorable outcomes.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment between regulatory requirements and operational practices.
• Drive initiatives to enhance the business unit’s reputation and credibility among key stakeholders, including local communities and industry bodies.
• Provide strategic guidance to the CEO and leadership team on matters related to corporate affairs and regulatory compliance.
• Lead crisis management efforts related to regulatory or stakeholder issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
Required & Preferred Qualifications
Experience
Proven track record of 20+ years in corporate affairs, regulatory compliance, or stakeholder engagement within the power or energy sector.
