Overview of the Role
To build and strengthen the Chamber’s relationship with key government stakeholders, policymakers, and regulatory authorities. The role focuses on advocacy, policy influence, and representing member interests to create a favourable business environment.
Job Description
Stakeholder Engagement
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with topmost level of central and state government officials, industry associations, and think tanks.
• Facilitate regular interactions (meetings, roundtables, conferences) between chamber members and key government stakeholders.
• Identify and engage key decision makers for policy advocacy.
• Networking with offices & protocol officers of Ministers at Central level and CMs at State level to facilitate meetings for leadership of the client organization
• Relationship management with senior journalists in Media
Policy & Advocacy
• Track and analyse government policies, legislations, and regulatory developments relevant to industry members.
• Prepare policy briefs, position papers, and recommendations for government consultations & meetings along with subject matter heads in the organisation.
• Pursue acceptance of policy advocacy representations, memorandums, and submissions made to ministries and regulatory bodies.
3. Communication & Documentation
• Good quality written and spoken communications, briefing notes, and presentations for leadership.
• Maintain updated database of key government contacts and policy developments.
Required & Preferred Qualifications
Skill
Relationship Management
• Proven networking skills to build and sustain relationships with government officials, industry leaders and partner organizations.
• Ability to engage with senior bureaucrats, policymakers and industry stakeholders with professionalism and diplomacy.
Quick Thinking & Planning
• Ability to develop advocacy strategies with concerned subject matter colleagues in the organization
• Multitasking and planning to meet tight deadlines without compromise on quality of work.
Education
Master’s degree or higher in Public Relations, business development, Political Science, Law, or related field preferred.
Experience
• 15-20 years of experience in government relations, public relations or advocacy—preferably, in chambers, industry bodies, or consulting organisations. • Proven track record of engaging with ministries, regulators, and government institutions.
