About Nav Bharat Jagriti Kendra (NBJK)
Nav Bharat Jagriti Kendra (NBJK) is one of the most renowned voluntary organization in India. It is established by four graduate engineers in the 1971. NBJK has integrated approach of rural development. It has 50+ successful years of grass-root level rich experience in the fields of livelihood, education, health, networking and advocacy across 36 districts of Jharkhand and Bihar. Projects implemented by NBJK are: Education: over 4000 rural children studying in 5 High Schools, 2 Primary Schools, Non Formal Education (NFE) centers and Remedial Coaching Centers (RCCs) Health: over 2 Lakh people get benefit from 3 eye hospitals, community eye screening activities, free cataract surgery for ending avoidable blindness, community mental health programme, rehabilitation of persons with disabilities, mother and child care initiatives, and WASH and Hygiene. Livelihood: Employment linked skill training, High value agriculture training to farmers, Lakhpati Kissian- Smart Village progamme, Watershed management, promoting SHGs and Microcredit activities Social Issues: NBJK maintains a network of over 300 NGOs in Bihar and Jharkhand which raise issues of social concern like liquor ban, inter faith peace and harmony, electoral reform, etc. It also runs family counselling centers, Childline 1098 and social needs projects. Due to transparency and quality of work, the organisation is funded by over 30 national and international donor agencies, corporate social responsibility (CSR) foundations, govt. agencies and individuals. Impressed by the impactful, evidence based work and professional approach, NBJK has been invited to various committees and boards which includes Planning Commission of India (now Niti Ayog); CAPART - under aegis of Ministry of Rural Development – GOI; National Commission for Women - New Delhi; and State committees on Clinical Establishment, Rights of Persons with disabilities, PCPNDT, RINPAS, under govt. of Jharkhand.

Overview of the Role
The Director - Disability and Inclusion will provide strategic leadership, technical guidance, and programme oversight for NBJK’s disability and inclusion initiatives. The role focuses on strengthening inclusive development approaches, scaling up disability programmes, ensuring policy alignment, and fostering partnerships with government, CSR, and development agencies.
Job Description
• Provide strategic leadership and overall direction to disability and inclusion programmes
• Scale, and strengthen Skill and Microenterprise development programmes for Persons with Disabilities in Slums and Villages of Bihar and Jharkhand
• Ensure effective planning, implementation, budgeting, monitoring, and evaluation of disability programmes
• Ensure programme quality, and compliance with donor agencies
• Lead engagement and coordination with government departments
• Facilitate access to entitlements including UDID, disability pension, and social security schemes
• Maintain partnerships with CSR agencies, donors, INGOs, and technical institutions
• Building new partnerships with CSR agencies, donors, and government agencies
• Support proposal development, concept notes, budgets, and donor reporting related to disability inclusion
• Provide leadership, mentoring, and capacity building to programme managers, coordinators, and field teams
• Strengthen organisational capacity on disability rights, inclusion, and safeguarding
• Oversee programme documentation, impact reporting, case studies, and knowledge management

Education
At least Postgraduate degree in Social Work, Development Studies, Public Policy, Disability Studies, or a related field
Experience
• Minimum 7 years of experience in disability inclusion, inclusive development, or social sector leadership • Strong understanding of disability rights, CBID, social protection systems, and government policies • Proven experience working with government, donors, and CSR agencies
