About GIZ India


The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is a federal enterprise with worldwide operations. We support the German Government in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development. The current thematic areas of GIZ in India are – Energy, Environment, Climate Change and Biodiversity, Sustainable Urban Development and Sustainable Economic Development. The Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Federal Ministry of the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU), as well as the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi), are the main commissioning parties of GIZ in India. Other clients include Indian public sector clients, the European Union and foundations. Currently, GIZ has over 330 staff in India, of whom 85 percent are national personnel. The Government of India has launched numerous important initiatives to address the country’s economic, environmental and social challenges, and GIZ is contributing to some of the most significant ones. For example, it supports key initiatives such as Smart Cities, Clean India, and Skill India. GIZ, in close cooperation with Indian partners, devises tailor-made, jointly-developed solutions to meet local needs and achieve sustainable and inclusive development.


Overview of the Role


Manage technical delivery and stakeholder coordination for GIZ programs supporting BEE in implementing the CCTS compliance and offset mechanisms. Lead collaboration with government, industry, and partners; coordinate consultants and vendors; support development of offset methodologies and regulatory frameworks; drive workshops, capacity building, and knowledge products; and ensure timely, high-quality project execution using GIZ monitoring tools.

Job Description


Managing the technical aspects of the programmes in accordance with the order and project goals and activities agreed with the partner, team agreements and/or agreements with the superior for:
• ensuring the project objectives are timely achieved.
• ensuring robust coordination with all the relevant stakeholder.
• maintaining the quality of the deliverables of the project.
• any other technical matters.

Coordination
• maintaining a good flow of communication and information between all involved institutions, • counterparts and within GIZ.
• ensuring that information is exchanged with stakeholders, such as, BEE, Line Ministries, Govt. departments, industry and their associations, etc.
• coordinating with consultants/ vendors for various activities to ensure on-ground implementation of the project work packages.

Technical
• Supporting BEE in the implementation of CCTS- compliance and offset mechanisms.
• Supporting in development of methodologies for offset mechanisms, and handholding in implementation/ registration of projects.
• Supporting in development/ amendments of regulatory frameworks/ normalizations for various sectors under compliance mechanism of CCTS.
• Disseminating the project outcomes through workshops, seminars, etc.
• Ensuring the development of capacity building materials for the stakeholders as per the need of the project and the receiver.
• Ensuring knowledge products, e.g., reports, websites, etc., are completed within timeframe.
• Ensuring development of comprehensive peer to peer learning modalities and successful establishment/ enactment of such system.
• Organising/ coordinating national roundtables on CCTS to facilitate discussion on the need of the sector.
• Coordinating with policy makers to further improve overall regulatory framework, as applicable.
• Ensuring use of monitoring tools of GIZ to steer the project.

Other duties/additional tasks
• Preparing/ reviewing reports, presentation, documents
• Performing other duties and tasks at the request of AV/ management.


Required & Preferred Qualifications


Skill

• Work experience in the Perform, Achieve and Trade (PAT) scheme of BEE, and/or similar Government’s programmes/ schemes for industries.
• Work experience in carbon market would be an advantage.
• ISO 14064 certification/ other GHG protocol’s certificate would be an advantage.
• Working expertise on MS Office (word, excel, power point, etc.)

Education

Master’s/ Bachelor of Engineering/ Technology in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Chemical or other relevant field.

Experience

At least 7 years of relevant work experience in energy in industrial sectors.
