About Mamta Health Institute for Mother and Child


Mamta Health Institute for Mother and Child (MAMTA HIMC) is a leading national-level NGO which works across 20 states in India. It is a not-for-profit institution registered under society Registration Act 1956. MAMTA’s journey began in the urban slums of New Delhi in 1990 in the field of mother and child health and nutrition. In the last 27years, MAMTA has evolved in to a leading, multi-pronged, national level in situation that is focused on empowering people and communities; building capacities; forging partnerships and alliances; building evidences on implementation as a science to advance policy and programme investments for health and nutrition of the marginalized. MAMTA works through the mechanism of direct intervention, community mobilization, health system strengthening, networking and policy advocacy in close partnership with government and public health systems, civil societies, academic institutions, corporate sector and the community at large. MAMTA extends its work in four broad thematic areas: • Maternal and Child Health and Nutrition (MCHN) • Youth Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (YSRHR) • Communicable Diseases (CDs) such as HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, Hepatitis ‘B’ & ‘C’ • Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) The organization has a strong team of 850 fulltime staff with multi-disciplinary senior and middle management teams. The MAMTA team, along with 136 NGO partners, is driving the health and empowerment agenda in India and across borders. In addition to India, last decade has observed spread of our work as a technical support agency to countries of South and South East Asian region as well. MAMTA has its head office in New Delhi and State/regional offices in Bengaluru, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Delhi, Jaipur, Lucknow, Patna and Shimla.


Overview of the Role


This role involves working within a multidisciplinary team to implement projects across multiple states, with a strong focus on training and capacity building in RMNCH+A and nutrition. It requires technical expertise in public health and research methods, responsibility for donor reporting and relationships, development of monitoring and analytical reporting systems, contribution to proposal development, and creation of SOPs, training materials, and technical publications.

Job Description


(1) Will be part of a team of professionals with varied backgrounds for project implementation in different states;
(2) Shall plan / organize / conduct training on issues particularly on Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCH+A) and Nutrition etc.
(3) Should be technically sound and have a good understanding of basic research methodology
(4) Donor reporting and relationship would be an important aspect of working;
(5) Develop analytical reporting and monitoring system depending on project needs;
(6) Shall initiate or take proactive actions for developing new proposals in the areas of interest in the organization.
(7) Shall develop SoPs, Training modules, Job aids, Reports, Papers & Publications


Required & Preferred Qualifications


Skill

(1) Should demonstrate leadership, critical thinking, team work and innovations.
(2) Strong understanding on program implementation and monitoring of projects.
(3) Good communication – both written and oral skills;
(4) Proficient in team and resource management
(5) Good understanding on basic research methods and analytical process is important;

Education

Master Degree with specialization in public health/ Social Work/Social Science /allied fields from reputed institutions.

Experience

Should have a minimum 5-7 years’ experience of working on implementation of public health programs on issues related to MNCHN /SRHR/Adolescent Health/Mental health. Good understanding of national programs around these issues is important. Preferably should have worked closely with public health systems / National programs.
