Overview of the Role
The Manager – Learning & Engagement will lead the Learning & Engagement function as a strategic and relationship-building unit within the YIF team. The Manager will oversee key pillars, including the Experiential Learning Module (ELM), Mentorship program, Guest Sessions (including Alumni-in-Residence), and dynamic Learning & Engagement modules, while driving innovation in student development and welfare through student and cross-departmental relationship management. Job Description
1. Learning & Engagement Leadership
Lead the overall Learning & Engagement portfolio, ensuring the quality, consistency, and impact of all programmatic elements, including ELM, guest sessions, and mentorship.
Develop and execute strategic L&E modules and para-academic workshops that respond to student needs—ranging from research and data analysis to project management, industry immersions, and DEI-oriented modules (inclusion by design; caste, gender and disability sensitization).
2. Student Welfare and Community Engagement
Oversee the Anchor Program, Fellows Council, and other initiatives that foster student well-being, leadership, and a sense of community.
Collaborate closely with the Office of Student Affairs, Residence Life, ACWB, CDO and other university departments to ensure an integrated support ecosystem for Fellows.
3. Relationship Management
Cultivate and manage relationships with organisations, alumni, mentors, and visiting faculty to strengthen the YIF’s learning and engagement ecosystem.
Serve as a key liaison for cross-university collaborations, particularly with the Career Development Office to ensure holistic career development and placement support.
4. Cross-Functional Program Support
Work closely with the YIF Director and senior leadership to align L&E activities with the program’s academic and strategic priorities.
Flexible capacity to work closely with and support academic affairs and operations teams as needed, including financial planning and reviews on key programmatic elements.
Contribute to the operational and academic rhythm of the program, including key institutional events such as Orientation, Friends of YIF, and Convocation.
5. Team Management
Manage and mentor a team of 1–3 junior team members, fostering accountability, creativity, and professional growth.
