Overview of the Role
ICRW is seeking the support of a consultant to synthesize evidence on strategies and models that promote men’s role in caregiving in India, with the goal of informing programming and policy that advances gender equality in the care economy.
Job Description
The consultant will specifically:
• Lead literature review to synthesize existing evidence on men’s roles in caregiving in India, with a focus on identifying and analyzing models of male engagement that promote men’s participation in care work.
• Conduct 8-10 Key-informant interviews with critical stakeholders to deepen understanding of the strategies and mechanisms adopted to facilitate men’s participation in caregiving.
• Conduct data transcription and data analysis.
• Assist the team in curating and coordinating roundtable with civil society organizations (CSOs), researchers, academicians, etc.
• Document key insights and recommendations emerging from the roundtable.
• Support the team in development of a draft evidence brief, drawing on insights from the literature review, • KIIs and roundtable discussions.
• Assist the Project Team in any other analysis and/or writing assignments as per need during the period.
Required & Preferred Qualifications
Education
Master’s in Social Sciences/Development Studies/ Social Work/Gender Studies or any relevant field.
Experience
• Minimum 5-7 years relevant work experience in working with research organizations or NGOs on male engagement is preferred. • Experience conducting literature review and qualitative research. • Experience of developing knowledge products such as briefs and articles.
