Overview of the Role
The Senior Manager — Media and Storytelling leads the creative, editorial, and production direction for CSRBOX’s impact communication platform. The role is responsible for designing narrative frameworks, developing a strong pipeline of high-quality impact stories, steering podcast storytelling, and ensuring the platform reflects authenticity, depth, and narrative excellence. This position serves as the central creative anchor—shaping CSRBOX into a credible voice for India and South Asia’s impact ecosystem.
Job Description
A. Editorial & Content Direction
• Develop a long-term storytelling roadmap, including podcast series, documentary features, on-field impact stories, thematic campaigns, and regional story portfolios.
• Design structured storytelling templates and style guides (tone, script flow, hooks, cadence, emotional arc).
• Lead research for new content directions relevant to CSR, philanthropy, education, community development, sustainability, public health, and livelihoods
B. Story Pipeline Leadership
• Build and maintain a structured story pipeline through collaboration with government programs, NGOs, CSR teams, social enterprises, community groups, and innovators.
• Conduct pre-interviews with potential protagonists and guests to assess depth, narrative potential, and story angles.
• Prioritize stories based on relevance, authenticity, quality, feasibility, and audience value.
C. Production Planning & Oversight
• Finalize shoot outlines, shot lists, interview questionnaires, locations, and field-recording strategies.
• Coordinate logistics, approvals, and timelines with the production team to ensure seamless execution.
• Attend major podcast recordings and select field shoots to guide narrative clarity and ensure subject comfort.
D. Quality Assurance & Editorial Review
• Review editing drafts, cutdowns, sound design, visuals, subtitling, and metadata prior to publishing.
• Uphold quality benchmarks across content formats and ensure alignment with platform identity and emotional tone.
E. Collaboration & Ecosystem Engagement
• Work closely with sector partners, impact leaders, researchers, and field organisations to ensure content integrity and access.
• Identify co-creation opportunities with institutions, domain experts, and thought leaders.
F. Team Leadership & Systems
• Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary creative team (videographers, editors, writers, communication personnel).
• Develop SOPs for research, scripting, editing, archival systems, and publishing workflows.
Required & Preferred Qualifications
Experience
• 7–12 years of experience in storytelling, media production, documentary formats, journalism, or communication strategy. • Strong interviewing, writing, narrative design, script development, and editorial supervision abilities. • Prior experience with long-form storytelling (YouTube, OTT, podcasts, documentary formats).
