Overview of the Role
The Project Director will provide strategic leadership and oversight to ensure the project’s vision of empowering rural and migrant women is achieved. This role is responsible for planning, implementation, and monitoring of all program components— including livelihoods, health, education, and leadership development—ensuring quality and impact.
Job Description
• Lead the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of gender equality programmes to ensure measurable outcomes and alignment with Sampark’s strategic objectives.
• Support enterprise start-up and value chain initiatives of women, including guidance on production, raw material procurement, sales systems, and institutional market linkages.
• Strengthen women’s capacities to manage production, stock-keeping, marketing, and gradually participate across the full value chain—from cultivation to sales. Ensure all enterprise-related legal, financial, and regulatory compliances are met.
• Oversee digital marketing initiatives, e-commerce platforms, and prepare annual growth and sustainability plans.
• Conduct weekly review meetings to assess progress, identify challenges, and ensure the smooth functioning of field operations.
• Oversee the use of digital tools, data management systems, and technology platforms for programme delivery, monitoring, and reporting.
• Build the capacities of teams in Varanasi and Koppal through regular mentoring, motivation, and performance reviews to strengthen ownership and accountability toward project goals.
• Identify training needs and resource persons, and support the team in creating agendas on local governance, health, enterprise, and SHG empowerment.
• Prepare monthly and annual progress reports for donors, ensuring effective coordination between Sampark and funding partners.
• Monitor budgets, cash flows, and fund utilization to ensure financial discipline and transparency.
• Write reports and papers on gender and development to enhance Sampark’s visibility; engage with donors, partners, and CSR initiatives to secure sustained funding support.
• Collaborate with the communications team to highlight programme impact, best practices, and success stories to wider audiences.
Required & Preferred Qualifications
Skill
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and ERP data systems
• Fluency in English and Hindi
• Willingness to travel to the field - Varanasi
Education
A Master’s degree in Social Work, Business Administration, or a related field
Experience
Over 7 years of experience in the non-profit sector, particularly in the areas of gender and enterprise development
