Saath (which in Hindi/Gujarati means ‘together, co-operation, a collective or support’), founded in 1989, is an NGO in India registered as a Public Charitable Trust and is based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Saath closely works with the vulnerable communities and empowers the socially marginalized by providing them livelihood linkages, imparting skills leading to employment, health and education facilities. The focus areas of Saath are livelihoods, skill development, health and education, rights, urban governance, financial inclusion, rehabilitation and resettlement and other community development initiatives. Saath envisions inclusive and empowered communities and individuals and is working on a mission to make human settlements equitable living environments where all residents and vulnerable people have access to health, education, essential infrastructure services and livelihood options, irrespective of their economic and social status. Saath began as a Charitable Trust that pioneered in rejuvenating underprivileged slums and vulnerable neighborhoods into self-sustaining and developed communities by its Integrated Community Development Programme changing the environment of urban slums. Saath through its one-stop centers pro-videos supports to slum dwellers to obtain government identities, providing them access to public benefit schemes, imparting skills leading to employment, micro-finance for vital personal consumption and setting up SMEs and providing access to habitable environment and basic education. Over the years, Saath has partnered with various entities – government, corporates, individuals and other NGO/NPOs for several undertakings of greater good.In the last 31 years Saath has rendered it services to several slum residents, migrants, minorities, children, women, youth and vulnerable people in Gujarat, Rajasthan and Maharashtra (Mumbai) and has touched the lives of more than 15 lakh individuals.

Overview of the Role
The Manager – Marketing and Communication will lead the organisation’s branding, communications, and marketing efforts to increase visibility, strengthen stakeholder engagement, and amplify the impact of its mission. This role involves developing and executing strategic communication plans, managing digital and offline campaigns, creating compelling content, and ensuring consistent messaging across all platforms.
Job Description
1. Marketing & Brand Strategy
• Develop and implement integrated marketing and communication strategies aligned with the organisation’s goals.
• Manage the organisation’s brand identity, ensuring consistency across all materials, events, and digital channels.
• Identify and leverage opportunities for media coverage, public relations, and thought leadership.
2. Content Creation & Storytelling
• Produce engaging content that tells the organisation’s story and highlights the impact of its work (articles, videos, infographics, case studies, newsletters).
• Oversee the design and production of marketing materials such as annual reports, brochures, and donor communication kits.
• Collaborate with program teams to capture stories, data, and visuals from the field.
3. Digital Marketing & Social Media
• Develop and execute digital marketing campaigns across platforms (website, email, social media, SEO).
• Manage the organisation’s social media presence, ensuring growth, engagement, and alignment with brand tone.
• Monitor analytics and report on performance metrics for digital outreach and engagement.
4. Media Relations & External Communication
• Build and maintain strong relationships with media, influencers, and sector partners.
• Draft press releases, opinion pieces, and other PR materials.
• Represent the organisation at external events, forums, and conferences as needed.
5. Internal Communication & Coordination
• Work closely with program, fundraising, and partnerships teams to align messaging and ensure cohesive communication.
• Provide guidance and training to staff on brand and communication best practices.
Required & Preferred Qualifications
Skill
• Proven experience managing digital marketing, brand campaigns, and media relations.
• Strong storytelling, writing, and editing skills in English (knowledge of regional languages is an asset).
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a mission-driven environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in digital marketing tools (Google Analytics, SEO, social media management, etc.).
• Experience working with design tools (Canva, Adobe Suite) preferred.
• Commitment to the organisation’s values and social impact mission.
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
Experience
• 5–8 years of relevant experience in marketing or communications, preferably in the non-profit or social impact sector. • Proven experience managing digital marketing, brand campaigns, and media relations.
