Overview of the Role
The Manager will lead the implementation and scale-up of Index Testing Plus Services (ITS Plus) and other HIV case-finding strategies across Andhra Pradesh. The role involves coordinating with state and district stakeholders, overseeing facility and community-based HIV testing, ensuring effective linkages to prevention and treatment services, and providing technical supervision, mentoring, and capacity building for regional and site-level teams under Project ASPIRE.
Job Description
• Implement and scale-up Index Testing Plus Services (ITS plus) activities and other HIV case finding strategies across the districts of AP
• Implement Index Testing Services (ITS) in select high-burden facilities (Integrated Counseling and Testing Centres (ICTCs) and Anti-retroviral Treatment Centres (ARTCs)), prioritizing the clearance of backlogs and pending index cases
• Support in conducting trainings / refresher trainings for HIV testing counselors, testers, and healthcare workers on providing HIV testing in facilities and communities
• Ensure providing active referrals and linkages from HIV testing sites in the community to HIV prevention, treatment and care services and clinical support services.
• Networking and linkages with facilities, Targeted Interventions (TIs), District Integrated Strategy for HIV/AIDS (DISHA), APSACS and other key stakeholders in the state to maximize HIV case finding response.
• Ensure linking HIV testing services’ (HTS) users from the community HTS program to the appropriate services (e.g. Sampoorna Suraksha Kendra (SSK), Tuberculosis (TB) diagnosis, HIV care and treatment) and facilitate tracking those linkages.
• Provide management oversight to Project ASPIRE regional teams
• Provide mentoring and supportive supervision to site-level personnel on community mobilization and social and behavior change programs
• Coordinate with facilities, DISHA and APSACS in implementing ITS Plus and other Project ASPIRE activities
Required & Preferred Qualifications
Education
Masters’ degree, preferably in Social Work, Sociology, Public Health or any other related disciplines
Experience
• At least 8-10 years of experience, preferably in HIV/AIDS, public health, development sector, Good communication, negotiation, networking and analytical skills • Fluency in English and Telugu. • Willing to travel.
