Overview of the Role
"The Centre for Social and Economic Progress (CSEP) is seeking to hire a research assistant/analyst for its Foreign Policy and Security Studies vertical. The candidate will play a vital role in supporting our research initiatives and contributing to the development of innovative thought in the field of international relations and foreign policy, on climate change and energy transitions. They will work closely with our team of experts and contribute to research projects that inform policy decisions and address critical global climate and energy cooperation challenges. The focus will be on India’s international climate diplomacy strategies on climate finance, analysing policy around bilateral, multilateral and trilateral engagement, state capacity for climate engagement and global supply chains with a focus on critical minerals. The candidate is expected to have the ability to conduct thorough literature reviews and synthesise information from various sources. They are also expected to be able to do some programmatic coordination for non-research, programmatic activities. CSEP provides unique opportunities to work in a collaborative environment with researchers and experts in India, the region, and the world. We work with in-house, national and global experts, and regularly interact with stakeholders including industry and policymakers."

Required & Preferred Qualifications
Skill
1)Strong understanding of international relations theories, geopolitics, and global affairs. 2) A focus or interest in climate and energy issues is highly desirable. 3) Experience with qualitative research and analysis; familiarity with quantitative data analysis is an advantage.
Education
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in International Relations, Political Science, or a related field is required.
Experience
0-3 years of relevant experience is preferred, but recent graduates with strong academic backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
