About The Leprosy Mission Trust India (TLMTI)
The Leprosy Mission was founded in 1874 as ‘The Mission to Lepers’ by an Irishman named Wellesley Cosby Bailey, in Ambala, India. Subsequently in 1973, The Leprosy Mission Trust India (TLMTI) was registered as a Society under the Societies Registration Act of 1860. TLMTI is the largest leprosy-focused non-governmental organisation in India and is headquartered in New Delhi, India. The organisation works with people affected by leprosy and other neglected tropical diseases (NTDs), people with disabilities, and marginalised communities, especially women. TLMTI has a diverse set of programmes – Healthcare, Sustainable Livelihood, Community Empowerment, Advocacy, and Research and Training. These programmes are implemented through 14 hospitals and two clinics, six vocational training centres, five residential care homes for elderly persons affected by leprosy, community empowerment projects, and a research laboratory, spread across 10 states of India. Our focus areas: Free specialised leprosy care: Through our 14 hospitals, we provide holistic care to the people affected by leprosy. It includes, diagnosis, medicine, surgery, customised protective footwear, wheelchair and in-patient care. Skill Development: We have 06 Vocational Training Centres across India. These are approved by NCVT and have ISO 9001:2015 certification from quality assurance system. The focus is on youngsters affected by leprosy and disability. We have more than 1500 graduates a year with 54% women candidates and 90% campus placement. Education for young people: We shape young minds affected by leprosy and disability in poor communities and provide them tailored intervention for schooling and professional education. Sustainable Livelihood Programme: We have community development projects where we provide livelihood initiatives through Self Help Groups and special training for improved income while focussing on women headed families in the marginalised communities and people with disability.

Overview of the Role
The Manager – Advocacy and Communication is a pivotal role responsible for shaping The Leprosy Mission Trust India's (TLMTI) public narrative, driving positive policy change, and elevating the organisation's brand equity across India and internationally. This role requires a dynamic professional with a passion for social justice, who can seamlessly translate complex public health and social issues—especially those concerning leprosy, disability, and stigma—into compelling advocacy campaigns and strategic communications.

Government & Policy)
• Provide support in preparing policy briefs, advocacy toolkits, stakeholder communication packages, and position papers in consultation with subject experts.
• Engage with ministries (MoHFW, MSJE), government agencies and multilateral organisations to strengthen visibility and policy influence.
• Track and analyse public policy developments relevant to leprosy, health, and inclusion; identify opportunities for TLMTI engagement.
• Identify and engage with crucial constituencies, including domain influencers, medical associations, and policy-making bodies, to build strong alliances for systemic change.
Brand and Media Strategy
• Brand Elevation: Define and implement a comprehensive brand and communications strategy focused on elevating TLMTI’s brand architecture and securing a higher Share of Voice (SoV) in leprosy and disability domains.
• Drive TLMTI’s media engagement strategy—build and nurture relationships with journalists, editors, and influencers across mainstream, digital, and development media. Secure high-impact coverage, opinion editorials, and feature stories that humanise the leprosy narrative and elevate TLMTI’s mission.
Content, Storytelling and Campaign Management
• Multimedia Production-Oversee or directly stitch together short videos, edit longer video content, and manage external creative agencies for high-quality content production.
• Curate human-interest stories from the field to drive empathy, awareness, and advocacy
• Oversee design, branding, and digital storytelling to ensure a consistent and compelling visual identity across channels.
Digital Engagement & Social Media
• Manage TLMTI’s digital presence (website, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, X/Twitter, Facebook) to expand reach and engagement.
• Oversee social media strategy, calendar, and analytics; ensure storytelling aligns with advocacy objectives.
• Produce social-first content (graphics, reels, testimonials) and leverage paid and organic channels for maximum visibility.
Events, Partnerships & Community Engagement
• Conceptualise and design communication strategies for key events, launches, workshops, and policy dialogues.
• Develop event collaterals—speaker briefs, concept notes, backdrops, and press kits.
• Collaborate with faith-based networks, corporate CSR partners, and NGOs to co-create campaigns and awareness drives.
• Coordinate post-event reporting, documentation, and amplification.
Required & Preferred Qualifications
Skill
• Strategic Communicator: Ability to translate complex ideas into accessible, persuasive narratives for diverse audiences—government, donors, partners, and the public.
• Digital Expertise: Strong grasp of social media analytics, content creation tools, and storytelling trends.
