Overview of the Role
The CIRCULAR ANGUL initiative is a pioneering effort to design and implement a district-level roadmap for circular and inclusive green economy in Angul district, Odisha. The project seeks to bridge the circularity gap in key sectors, promoting sustainable development, efficient resource utilization, and community-driven environmental stewardship. Through this initiative, IIM Mumbai aims to establish a robust framework and action plan for circular economy implementation—featuring pilot projects, capacity-building sessions, stakeholder engagement, and communication strategies for inclusive growth.
Job Description
• Lead community mobilization and engagement activities in Angul district.
• Coordinate stakeholder consultations, workshops, and training programs with local communities, government departments, and civil society groups.
• Facilitate participatory development processes to ensure local ownership and inclusivity.
• Support social impact assessments, feedback mechanisms, and awareness campaigns.
• Document community success stories, challenges, and lessons learned for reporting and knowledge sharing.
• Assist in monitoring and evaluation of community engagement components.
• Collaborate with project leadership on communication and outreach plans to enhance visibility and sustainability of initiatives.
Required & Preferred Qualifications
Skill
• Excellent interpersonal and coordination skills.
• Experience working with local governance systems and rural communities.
• Understanding of sustainability and circular economy principles is desirable.
• Fluency in English and local languages preferred.
Education
Preferably a Master’s degree in Sustainability, Social Development, or Environment.
Experience
• 5–10+ years of professional experience in community mobilization, participatory development, and stakeholder engagement. • Experience in community relations, social impact assessment, and large-scale outreach programs preferred. • Proven record of managing community programs reaching diverse beneficiaries. • Strong facilitation, communication, and reporting skills.
