Nearly a decade ago, Mantra stepped into the education ecosystem with a vision to transform Public Education in India. In a nation like India with complexities of scale and diversity, enabling quality education cannot be exclusive of systemic reforms. Our mission is to enable enriching learning experiences for children by enabling education leaders to drive school improvements. Towards this, we partner with bodies like the Ministry of Education, State education departments, as well as other Civil Society Actors. We enable school improvement through a tri-fold approach - working directly with schools through our innovation projects, working with state governments towards enabling greater system capacity, and by working with ecosystem actors to nurture a collective of changemakers. As part of our work with state governments, one of our key programs is the Punjab Education Collective - a collective of 4 organizations jointly working towards systemic school reform in the state of Punjab, for which we were recently awarded “The Collective Social Innovation Award” by the Schwab Foundation at the World Economic Forum in January 2023. Through the span of the last 10 years, we have been able to reach 272,090 schools, 276,204 education leaders and 36,457,659 children.

Overview of the Role
As a Manager-District Program, you will be responsible for the leadership journey of 3-5 members of the district program team by playing a role of manager and coach for them. You will work closely with the team and the education department to drive the education intervention. The Manager-District Program will also be actively engaged in designing and innovating the existing program design and implementation methods.
Job Description
1) Lead the co-creation journey of education change programs with partners and Govt. officials at the district level such as DM, SSA, DIETs etc.
2) Build strategic partnerships consisting of various organizations and stakeholders, including NGOs, Knowledge partners, Design Consultants, Govt. Agencies etc. and create a partner engagement framework to coordinate and monitor the efficacy.
3) Review existing structures and processes, and work with concerned officials to implement improvement projects.
4) Assess and analyze existing government projects and devise plans to strengthen them. You would improve the learning cycles for every official by improving the feedback mechanism from the ground.
5) Support the program solutions & design teams for each initiative to make simple and scalable interventions and establish effective Monitoring and Evaluation processes.
6) Articulate the objectives and theory of change and communicate effectively with the stakeholders about the program.
7) A min of 15 days of travel to different districts and schools to support the implementation of the program.
Required & Preferred Qualifications
Skill
Must have a minimum experience of 5 years and a degree in education or equivalent. Experience teaching in low-income schools or government schools is preferred. Must have an awareness of the state-level initiatives towards education transformation in different parts of India is preferable. Must have effective planning skills and time-task management. Must be ready to travel
