Overview of the Role


Pratham is seeking a Manager with a focus on program communication strategy and visibility. This role involves working closely with program and fundraising teams to capture, curate, and communicate insights from the field through compelling stories, reports, case studies, and multimedia content. The ideal candidate will have strong writing, editing, and documentation skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to translate complex programmatic information into accessible and engaging narratives for diverse audiences — including donors, partners, policymakers, and the public.

Job Description


1. Program Communication and Documentation
• Develop and implement a program communication strategy aligned with organizational goals and campaigns.
• Tailor narratives and messaging for varied audiences, including donors, governments, corporates, media, and communities.
• Collaborate with program and field teams to understand ongoing initiatives, impact, and innovations.
• Conceptualize, draft, and edit communication materials, including reports, success stories, case studies, briefs, and impact summaries.
• Document key program learnings, milestones, and human-interest stories for internal and external dissemination.
• Create and maintain organized content repositories and archives.
• Work with the fundraising team to mobilize funds for the program.
• Translate technical, research-heavy, and data insights into accessible, compelling communication.
• Support development of multimedia narratives that strengthen online engagement.

2. Internal and External Communication
• Support the creation of talking points, presentations, and other communication materials for leadership and program heads.
• Contribute to newsletters, websites, and other platforms by providing program-focused content.
• Coordinate with designers, photographers, and videographers to develop high-quality visual and narrative documentation.

3. Quality Assurance and Process Management
• Ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency of all written materials.
• Review and edit documents for coherence, tone, and alignment with Pratham’s communication guidelines.
• Develop and maintain content calendars to ensure timely delivery of materials


Required & Preferred Qualifications


Skill

• Proven ability to write clear, structured, and engaging content in English for diverse audiences.
• Strong editorial and project management skills.
• Experience working closely with program or field teams to capture on-ground perspectives.
• Someone with prior experience of writing for non-fiction video scripts will be preferred.
• Have the ability and willingness to travel as required.
• Possess a sense of urgency and be results oriented.
• Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
• Strong understanding of program design and impact communications.
• Comfortable working with data, research, and visual communication teams.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with strong attention to detail.
• Familiarity with tools for content management, documentation, and visual storytelling.

Experience

7-10 years of relevant experience in communications, documentation, or content development, preferably in the nonprofit or development sector.
