Overview of the Role


The Monitoring & Evaluation Coordinator plays a key role in strengthening NVBDCP program implementation in Jharkhand under the supervision of the State Programme Officer and State M&E Consultant. The coordinator ensures data-driven decision-making, quality assurance, and effective delivery of malaria elimination interventions.

Job Description


• Conduct minimum 10 field visits per month to monitor program implementation.
• Support planning and supervision of health camps in malaria-endemic areas.
• Collect, compile, and analyze epidemiological data; identify gaps and propose corrective measures.
• Facilitate district/block-level review meetings; track progress against malaria elimination targets.
• Provide technical support to EDCT and Integrated Vector Management (IVM) activities.
• Build partnerships with NHM, NVBDCP, NGOs, community leaders, and other stakeholders.
• Capacity building of staff, ASHAs, and volunteers on malaria prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.
• Prepare timely reports, dashboards, and presentations for state, district, and donor reviews.
• Lead M&E framework development aligned with GFATM and NVBDCP guidelines.


Required & Preferred Qualifications


Skill

• Strong knowledge of malaria epidemiology, NVBDCP guidelines, EDCT, IVM, and public health programs.
• Skilled in data collection, MIS/IHIP/HMIS platforms, analysis, and evidence-based decision-making.
• Experienced in training, mentoring, and facilitating review meetings for field staff and volunteers.
• Proficient in Hindi, English, and local languages.
• Excellent problem-solving, coordination, and fieldwork management skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively (≈70% fieldwork).

Education

Master’s in Public Health (MPH), Epidemiology, Statistics, Social Work (MSW), Health Management, Demography, or related field. Certifications in M&E, Data Management, GIS, Health Information Systems preferred.

Experience

• Minimum 8 years in M&E of public health programs, preferably malaria or infectious disease projects. • Experience in data collection, analysis, reporting, and government/NVBDCP coordination. • Familiarity with Global Fund, NVBDCP compliance and donor-funded projects. • Hands-on field experience in high-risk, remote, or malaria-endemic areas.
