Job Overview
Join WOTR's dynamic Women Empowerment Team and contribute to transformative change in rural communities. This role involves leading regional efforts to enhance women's empowerment and gender equality through effective program implementation, team mentoring, and strategic partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and Expansion:
- Lead the regional team to drive thematic expansion and effectiveness in women empowerment and gender initiatives.
- Support the regional manager in the effective implementation of projects and programs.
- Team Mentorship and Capacity Building:
- Mentor and support teams within the regional office to strengthen the women empowerment portfolio and promote gender mainstreaming.
- Identify training needs, prepare training modules, and build capacities of team members on women empowerment and gender themes.
- Design and conduct Training of Trainers (TOT) and training for Community-Based Organizations (CBOs).
- Technical Implementation and Coordination:
- Manage the technical implementation of programs/projects, ensuring alignment with other thematic work within the region.
- Assist in designing, planning, executing, and monitoring activities in the project area.
- Networking and Liaison:
- Liaise and network with government programs and CSR initiatives, showcasing WOTR's work and enhancing regional impact.
- Finalize and oversee the yearly work plan and budget, ensuring goals, impacts, and outcomes are achieved.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Ensure timely submission of reports to donors and management, meeting required standards on women and gender.
- Identify and document best practices and lessons learned in the women and gender domain.
- Provide timely reports and data sets for data collation and representation at the head office.
- Support and Analysis:
- Support the Women Empowerment theme lead in documenting and analyzing data, and preparing SOPs and thematic documents.
- Perform any additional tasks assigned to ensure effective functioning.
Qualifications
- Education: Master’s degree or equivalent in social sciences, management, human rights, gender/women’s studies.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of field experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership/managerial role, in designing, implementing, and monitoring women’s empowerment and income-generating projects at the regional level.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of gender equality and women's economic, social, and political empowerment.
- Excellent time management skills and adherence to deadlines.
- Proficiency in synthesizing program performance data and producing analytical reports for strategic decision-making.
- Strong networking, interpersonal, mentoring, and team-building skills.
- Good analytical and communication skills.
- Fluency in regional languages specific to the state, as well as Hindi and English.
