Established in 2006, Synergy Sansthan stands as a youth-led non-profit organization with a strong community focus. Originating from the vision of few passionate individuals, the organization advocates for a youth-centric approach to adolescents' and young people's development and empowerment. Synergy Sansthan's direct intervention districts in Madhya Pradesh are- Harda, Khandwa, Khargone, Guna, Barwani, Dewas and Betul. Over the last 18 years, we have grown to nurturing rural and tribal adolescents and youth leadership, which resulted in impacting 2.5 lakh lives from marginalized communities. Synergy Sansthan is committed to fostering psycho- social and economic empowerment. Central to its philosophy is the belief that youth are valuable assets, and the organization aims to create an enabling environment where they can collectively address identified issues, leading to the acquisition of skills and confidence. Looking ahead, Synergy Sansthan's Strategic Plan for 2023–2027 emphasizes expanding outreach to vulnerable and at-risk youth. By 2027, we aim to work directly with 1 lakh young people from diverse tribal, rural and urban backgrounds, empowering them as democratic and inclusive leaders. With the right resources and encouragement, these youth will be equipped to break the cycle of poverty and exploitation, impacting over 1 million people in Madhya Pradesh. The organization also plans to scale up proven programs and activities to additional districts, fostering social entrepreneurship among young people. Through a multifaceted approach, Synergy Sansthan strives to achieve sustainable outcomes in youth development.

Position Overview:

The State Youth Coordinator will be responsible for the overall coordination, implementation and monitoring of all Youth Resource Center (YRC) activities at the state level. This includes managing partnerships with NGOs, executing youth development initiatives, organizing training programs, facilitating group exposure, internships, events, campaigns and ensuring strong relationships with local stakeholders and relevant departments. She/he will also be responsible for overseeing all the initiatives for Youth Resource Centre (YRC) related activities at the state level. The Youth Resource Centre (YRC) program aims to empower youth by providing a platform for education, leadership, and personal growth. It offers a variety of services designed to help adolescents and young adults navigate the challenges they face while transitioning to independence. Through this initiative, we aim to engage youth in addressing social, educational, and career opportunities, fostering leadership skills and social responsibility. As a part of Synergy Sansthan’s broader mission to expand learnings, best practices, and partnerships, the State Youth Coordinator will lead the implementation of youth development programs and ensure that the Youth Resource Centres (YRC) effectively serve their intended purpose in empowering youth across Madhya Pradesh.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Coordination and Implementation

  • Oversee the implementation of Youth Resource Centre (YRC) activities, ensuring that services such as counselling, educational support, career guidance and information exchange are delivered on time.
  • Coordinate all activities related to youth programs, including workshops, exposure trips, volunteer placements and campaigns.
  • Mobilize youth participation in all aspects of the program and ensure active engagement of youth in both online and offline platforms.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of youth programs, adjusting strategies as needed to ensure positive impact.

Partnerships and Networking

  • Build and strengthen partnerships with NGOs, youth groups, government departments and local communities to foster collaboration and maximize the impact of the Youth engagement related initiatives at state level. 
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to design, implement and scale youth development programs in alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Engage with various community groups, schools/colleges and educational institutions to promote youth engagement in different activities. 
  • Identify opportunities for external collaboration, including partnerships for funding, internships, exposure trips and capacity-building workshops.

Youth Engagement and Leadership Development

  • Facilitate and encourage youth leadership, providing a platform for youth to voice their opinions, develop leadership skills and contribute to program development.
  • Facilitate capacity-building workshops to enhance the skills of youth leaders and empower them to take on leadership roles within their communities.
  • Promote youth-led campaigns, advocacy projects and social initiatives that address the issues most important to young people in the region.
  • Prepare high-quality, timely reports on the program's activities, successes, challenges and impact for internal and external stakeholders, including donors and government agencies.
  • Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of the Youth Resource Center services and adjust strategies to enhance impact and address emerging needs.
  • Manage program budgets effectively, ensuring that resources are allocated and utilized appropriately and efficiently.
  • Assist in resource planning for events, trainings, exposure trips, and other youth development initiatives.

Key Qualifications Required

  • Good sense of humour, ready to learn, assimilate and adapt to the cultural and contextual requirements of a youth focused and youth led team.
  • Post-graduate degree in any discipline (Youth Development, Social Work, Education, or related fields) with 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in program coordination, youth development and community engagement.
  • Strong knowledge of youth development practices, social welfare schemes and adolescent needs.
  • Experience in facilitation, instructional design, and event planning. Ability to create and maintain databases, manage budgets and generate reports.
  • Willingness to travel extensively, particularly to rural and remote areas and work flexible hours, including weekends.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to inspire and motivate youth and community members.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for youth leadership and development. Ability to think creatively and adapt strategies to meet the unique challenges faced by youth in rural areas.
  • Experience in monitoring and evaluating youth programs, with an ability to assess program effectiveness and suggest improvements.
