WWF-India, one of the largest conservation organizations, engaged in wildlife and nature conservation in the country, invites applications from candidates with an inherent sensitivity and passion towards promoting the conservation of nature and possessing the ability to involve and engage with local civil society on environmental matters. The person will be responsible for the environmental education programmes and local projects and be responsible towards improving the overall profile of WWF-India in Madhya Pradesh & & Chhattisgarh with civil society, donors, Govt. authorities and schools.
Job Profile
- Develop outreach programmes with local civil society and volunteers to involve them in our conservation initiatives and campaigns.
- Responsible for the Environment Education programmes and activities in the state (projects with local schools/campaigns/workshops/nature camps).
- Implement WWF-India’s local conservation initiatives and mobilise funding for these programmes.
- Responsible for improving the profile and visibility of WWF-India in the State.
- Oversee and build coordination and effectiveness with the f undraising and conservation products teams (which have a separate functional reporting to the Centre) by providing on-the-ground leadership, as the senior- most WWF- India representative in the State.
- Build and nurture relationships, and foster cooperation with the Forest department and the Department of Housing and Environment to garner support for the local conservation activities in the region.
Requirements Qualifications, Experience and competencies required:
- Graduate/Post Graduate (preferred)
- A min of 8 - 12 years of experience leading/ influencing teams in bringing about change in the conservation/ social arena.
- Cultural understanding/knowledge of working in the NGO sector.
