Job Role: Speech Therapist
Reporting to: Head of Healthcare
Summary: Assess, diagnose, and treat speech and communication disorders. Rehabilitate and support oral motor or communication functions through individualized or group therapy. Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
Assessments and Therapy
- Conduct assessments to diagnose speech and communication disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, revising as needed.
- Conduct individual and group therapy sessions.
- Use AAC tools (e.g., PECS, Makaton, speech therapy apps) to support communication.
Parents and Caregivers
- Guide and counsel parents and caregivers on managing disorders.
- Train parents on implementing therapy programs at home.
- Conduct parent training sessions when required.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain updated records, including assessments, diagnosis, progress, and treatments.
- Prepare reports as required.
Other Duties
- Participate in rural medical camps organized by Jai Vakeel Foundation in Maharashtra.
Required Experience, Skills, and Qualifications
- Education: Master's degree in Speech and Audiology.
- Experience: 2–3 years; experience with IDD children is advantageous.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in English and Hindi (mandatory); Marathi (preferred).
- Competency in MS Office, session data software, and familiarity with new therapies.
