Sangath is one of India's leading mental health research non-profit organization. It was founded in 1996 with its headquarters in Goa; major hubs in Delhi and Bhopal, and project sites in many parts of the country. Sangath's mission and expertise lies in developing and evaluating mental health interventions to be delivered through existing public systems. Its major thematic areas are: Child development and disability; adolescent health; mental disorders; and ageing.

About Project

EMPOWER SAHARA is a prestigious program which focuses on scaling up evidence based ‘task sharing’ interventions for perinatal mental health and early child development through delivery of comprehensive primary mental health care for first 1000 days of life.

Sangath has successfully digitized Thinking Healthy Program Peer (THPP) delivered; an evidence-based task sharing intervention for perinatal depression and Lalan Palan; an evidence informed video based intervention for early child development focused on responsive caregiving.

We aim to scale these twin interventions across 9 districts of Madhya Pradesh by digitally training community-based workers (ASHAs and Anganwadi workers) and provide them continuous supervision.

About the Role

Sangath is seeking to recruit a Senior Project Coordinator for EMPOWER SAHARA. Senior Project Coordinator will be responsible for the overall management of the program including the implementation of the project in adherence to its stated objectives, recruitments and capacity building of all team members, ensuring compliance of day-to-day activities across all project sites.

Essential Candidate Requirements

  • Postgraduate degree in Public health and Psychology
  • Experience in managing program budget and ensuring utilization as per program activities
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in managing health related projects
  • Willingness to travel regularly across all the project sites for monitoring and ensuring compliance with regards to project activities
  • Fluency in Hindi and English (written & verbal)
  • Strong Organizational, communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in handling Microsoft applications
  • Experience is using quantitative data analysis software’s like STATA, SPSS, R and qualitative software’s like NVivo/MAXQDA
  • Minimum Commitment of 2 years

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience in writing project proposals, manuscripts and leading research activities
  • Experience in managing large teams and handling implementation data
  • Sound experience of fund management
  • Contribute in building visibility of organizations work at the state and national level

Job Responsibilities

• Ensuring project scale up in all 9 districts

• Develop SOPs and ensure compliance in implementation

• Contribute in writing project proposals and data analysis

• Ensuring recruitment of staff and their capacity building

• Draft Institutional Review Board forms to initiate research activities in the project

• Mentor Project Coordinators, Psychologists, Data Manager and District Coordinators on capacity building, data management and research activities

• Prepare reports as per funder and organizational requirement and ensure timely and smooth coordination

• Liaison with government stakeholders and collaborating organizations for project-related deliverables and tasks.

• Work with the team to keep documentation and data up to date for reporting

• To contribute actively in writing manuscripts for peer reviewed journals and preparation of dissemination briefs

• Assist and participate in other Sangath activities.

• Execute any other relevant duties assigned by the Principal Investigators and Co Investigators.

Remuneration and Contractual Duration

The salary for the above position is INR 70,000/- to INR 80,000/- per month commensurate with work experience and applicable Sangath grade.

Initial appointment will be made for a period of 6 months which will be the probation period and this will be extendable based on the performance of the candidate.
