SUMMARY
The Deputy Chief of the Party (DCOP) holds the dual responsibility of providing technical leadership and assisting the Chief of Party in administrative supervision for the project. Additionally, the DCOP will play a central role in coordinating Project Partners and Project Implementation Units.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Programs
- Bring in domain and TB program expertise in team discussions and project plans.
- Participate in and contribute to project planning, staffing, coordination, implementation, monitoring and reporting.
- Implement project activities to ensure delivery of objectives in timely and quality fashion.
- Liaise with key stakeholders including project staff, external partners and government health functionaries at field, district and state levels.
- Serve as the primary day-to-day liaison between the TB program and staff and partners in selected geographies (both domestic and international).
- Assist supervisor in identifying critical issues, mitigation strategies, and potential impact on various responses.
- Work with staff from selected geographies to document activities and successes, and write abstracts, success stories, journal articles, and other materials to share achievements.
- Develop content for communications and external events, including blogs, case studies, policy reports, fact sheets or briefs, newsletters, and presentations.
- Lead the on-field implementation. AI-based research and solution deployment in selected geographies (both domestic and international) through field experiments, pilots and scale-ups.
- Coordinate with and provide support to internal teams of AI researchers, data scientists, engineers etc for acquiring data as needed, liaising with government stakeholders, conducting field research and field experimentations.
- Conduct supervision and monitoring of project activities to ensure cadence and delivery as per project work plans, timelines, resource allocations, and deliverable schedules through regular contact and coordination with relevant personnel.
- Conducting research, writing and tracking proposals and business development opportunities for the WIAI TB Program within the domestic and international health ecosystem.
- Perform duties as assigned by the supervisor from time to time.
Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP), USAID
- The Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) is responsible for achieving program goals, overseeing operations, and liaising with government officials and stakeholders. The DCOP's role involves aligning the project's objectives with the broader strategies of these stakeholders.
- Conducts and leads review meetings both within the organization and with USAID. These meetings are essential for keeping all stakeholders informed about the project's progress and addressing any challenges promptly.
- The DCOP plays a critical role in identifying, managing, and regularly tracking project updates. This ensures that the project stays on course, making adjustments as necessary to meet its objectives effectively.
- Beyond assisting the COP in managing grants and approvals, the DCOP is responsible for financial oversight, monitoring, and control. This includes conducting quarterly audits and preparing comprehensive reports to analyze and manage expenses.
- Ensuring that Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) reports are published in the accepted periodicity is a vital responsibility. These reports help in assessing the impact of the project, making data-driven decisions, and improving its outcomes.
- Serves as a central figure in the project's technical leadership, responsible for steering it in the right direction, ensuring accountability, and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders.
- Actively identifies new business opportunities and ideate proposals, contributing to the growth and sustainability of the organization and the project.
REQUIREMENTS
- Graduate degree in medicine (MBBS) or health sciences is preferred.
- Post Graduation (MD/DNB) in Internal Medicine/Respiratory Medicine/Community Medicine or public health (MPH).
- 10-12 years of relevant professional experience. Experience in supporting and implementing public health programs especially NTEP is required.
- Experience of working in a USAID funded project is highly desirable
- Experience in report writing and development of proposals for business development with a variety of domestic and international donors is preferred.
- Experience in working with emerging markets and emerging technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate (orally and in writing) complex issues in a concise, compelling, and easily understandable manner.
- Skilled in successfully working with geographically dispersed teams and working in a multicultural environment.
- Technical writing skills, such as synthesizing research findings, content for proposal sections, etc.
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize deadlines and work in fast-moving environments and teams, while maintaining accuracy.
- Fluency in Indian regional languages, especially Hindi, is preferred.
