About the role

As a Senior Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Officer, you will play a key role in enhancing the M&E systems to boost program efficiency, refine design, showcase impact, and foster a data-driven decision-making culture. Your work will directly contribute to the Capacity Building program within the Youth ecosystem by tracking progress against targets and indicators, analyzing results, and offering recommendations to improve outcomes. You will also create tools to capture both qualitative and quantitative data, as well as change stories.

This position involves generating insights to ensure high standards of program implementation and includes three primary focus areas: Monitoring and Reporting, Program Reflection, Review, and Learning, and Capacity Building (Internal and External).

Key Responsibilities

Monitoring and reporting

  • Design high-quality monitoring and reporting tools to capture both narrative and quantitative data, ensuring their effective use by employees and Master Trainers.
  • Develop and maintain indicators and tools aligned with MyQuest Strategy and donor requirements for effective monitoring and reporting.
  • Oversee the implementation of monitoring systems, ensuring accurate data collection, fieldwork, and reporting.
  • Conduct monitoring visits to document and observe program implementation firsthand.
  • Collaborate with program teams to produce impactful documentation, including case studies, evaluation reports, and briefing notes.
  • Compile high-quality quarterly, half-yearly, and annual reports.
  • Work closely with the Analytics team to ensure data is presented in user-friendly formats such as dashboards or other visualizations.

Program Reflection, review and learning

  • Assist in preparing analyses and insights for quarterly program L2 reviews.
  • Provide actionable insights for Learning Experience (LE) team reviews, in coordination with the LE team lead.
  • Support internal and external evaluations, including baselines, endlines, and other project-based surveys, from design to data collection, analysis, and reporting.

Capacity Building (Internal and External)

  • Deliver technical support and training on monitoring, data collection, and reporting for employees and program implementation partners.
  • Build the capacity of LE and state teams to interpret data effectively for program design and implementation.

Key Requirements

  • Postgraduate degree in social sciences or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of M&E experience, preferably in the development sector with a focus on training and capacity development.
  • Strong understanding of M&E trends in development organizations.
  • Proficiency in data analysis (quantitative and qualitative) with experience in tools like SPSS or Stata (preferred).
  • Strong reporting skills with the ability to draft impactful, data-driven reports.
  • Proficiency in statistical tools and software.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Interest in innovative methods of capturing program impact and learnings.
  • Fluency in Indian languages such as Hindi, Gujarati, Kannada, Tamil, or Malayalam is an added advantage.

Salary

The pay band for the position starts at Rs. 45,000/- per month (cost to company) (The salary offered will be commensurate with the experience and expertise of the candidate)
