About the job
Central India Landscape (CIL) is one of the flagship programmes of WWF-India, spanning across the states of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and Telangana. In CIL, our work focuses on species and habitat management & monitoring, addressing human-wildlife conflict, maintaining wildlife connectivity, community-based conservation and sustainable agri-based production. Approaches include field implementation, research & monitoring, capacity building & institutional development, policy advocacy and engagement with multiple partners including local communities, industries, government agencies and CSOs.Communication is an integral part of all this work. We are looking for a creative storyteller who can communicate our complex and often, highly technical work, to various audiences. S/He is expected to work closely with the team to develop stories, articles, Op-eds, and social media content based on our work. They would also be expected to review technical reports, press releases, policy notesand other routine communication material produced by the teams.

Job Profile:
Creative content development
- Develop content and collateral suitable for a range of audiences including social media, website, brochures, newsletters and press releases, across a range of different themes.
- Regularly author/co-author articles, features, stories and op-eds about the CIL team’s work and its impacts.
- Create case studies, success stories, and practical examples to illustrate key concepts, conservation practices, and impacts.
Coordination, Review and Capacity Building
- Develop a communication plan and a pipeline for the CIL team
- Review and edit all the communication content developed by the team to ensure clarity, quality and appropriateness of the messaging.
- Build the team members’ capacity for communication through training and hand-holding, Coordinate with others, including secretariat teams, media, donors etc to ensure good quality and timely publication of the CIL communication material.
- Maintain & build local media relations.
- Support the team in the execution of events and campaign activities.
Requirements Desired Qualifications, Experience, Skills And Abilities:
- Master’s degree in mass communications, journalism or public relations.
- 3-4 years experience in a communications role (Preferably in the media or not-for-profit sector)
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills in English and Hindi (Marathi and Telgu would be an advantage)
- Ability to write content for various media – Written, Audio-Visual, Interactive and creatively package and reposition content to suit various stakeholders.
- Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to identify communication opportunities and take initiative to deliver on them.
- Ability to deliver within tight deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to identify and support communication needs of the team.
- Knowledge of working with design software would be an advantage (Corel draw/Adobe Illustrator/Indesign, Adobe Photoshop).
