Location: Bengaluru/Remote
Key Responsibilities:
- Editing: Produce high-quality, engaging content through substantive editing, copy editing, and proofreading. Simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences.
- Visual Communication: Create and oversee clear visualizations to enhance data interpretation. Identify and highlight key messages, structure reports for optimal accessibility, and tailor content to various audiences.
- Social Media Strategy and Execution: Develop and implement effective social media strategies in collaboration with teams to maximize reach and impact. Track engagement metrics and optimize strategies accordingly.
- Website Content Management: Collaborate with internal teams and partners to maintain an updated and audience-relevant website. Utilize internal databases to streamline organizational processes.
- Community Building and Event Outreach: Coordinate and execute outreach activities, creating protocols to broaden contacts and communities aligned with the organization's mandate.
- Design and Visuals: Create and oversee social media posts, newsletters, website banners, and research and advocacy publications in a visually appealing format.
Qualifications and Skills:
- 3-5 years of professional experience in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field
- Master’s degree in Communications, Media Studies, English, or Social Sciences
- Advanced writing and editorial skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to simplify complex ideas in writing and create/supervise clear visualizations for diverse audiences
- Proficiency in social media management tools and platforms, with an understanding of best practices for optimizing content
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a creative and critical mindset
- Experience with content management systems and databases
Desired Experience:
- Previous experience in editorial or communications roles
- Experience working in a non-profit or similar organization
- Proficiency in design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.)
- Knowledge of digital rights, global politics of development, or related fields
