  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 10 AM–6 PM; alternate Saturdays.

About the organization


Founded by alumni of Harvard and the National University of Singapore, Slam Out Loud (SOL) leverages arts education to build socio-emotional learning (SEL) skills among underserved children. Through poetry, storytelling, visual arts, and theater, SOL fosters creative confidence and explores social justice topics like climate and gender. Since 2017, SOL has reached 200,000 children directly and 10.5 million digitally.

Recognized by the OECD, World Bank, LEGO Foundation, and UNESCO, SOL partners with organizations like UNICEF, Girl Rising, and Rainmatter Foundation.

About the job role

This role is integral in developing and managing SOL’s most valuable asset—its people (SOLmates). You will lead talent acquisition, team engagement, and the improvement of HR processes while fostering an inclusive, vibrant workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

1. Talent Management & Engagement:

  • Design and execute recruitment strategies for diverse hiring needs.
  • Manage the full recruitment cycle: job descriptions, outreach, onboarding, and retention.
  • Develop workforce metrics and reports on retention, engagement, and diversity.
  • Innovate team-building and engagement activities to strengthen SOLmate relationships.

2. People Operations:

  • Manage payroll coordination and support timely financial submissions.
  • Enhance existing HR policies, performance systems, and onboarding processes.
  • Design feedback loops to improve the employee experience.
  • Collaborate across teams to promote retention and well-being initiatives.

Ideal Candidate Profile

1. Mindsets, Skills, and Knowledge:

  • Strong HR process understanding (e.g., recruiting, performance management).
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Data-driven approach to presenting HR insights via dashboards and reports.

2. Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years in Human Resource Management or Talent Operations.
  • Proven experience in hiring middle to senior roles, ideally in the non-profit sector.
  • Proficiency in MS Suite; fluency in English is mandatory.
