Job Title: Research Associate (Grant Proposal Development)

Urban Ethnographers is a boutique development consulting firm specializing in providingadvisory support to social enterprises, NGOs, governmental organizations, universities, andpolicy research institutes on a range of social development and public policy matters.


Position Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Associate tojoin our team and support our grant proposal development process. The Research Associate will work closely with the research team to assist in the creation and submission of grant proposals for various research projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in research methodologies, excellent writing skills, and a keen attention to detail.

Roles and responsibilities:

1) Conduct comprehensive literature reviews to support the development of research proposals and identify knowledge gaps.

2) Assist in the preparation of grant proposals, including researching and gathering background information, developing project summaries, and writing proposal sections.

3) Compile and organize supporting documentation, such as budgets, timelines,
bio-sketches of project members, and letters of support, as required by funding
agencies.

4) Collaborate with research team members to ensure proposal components are
accurate, coherent, and aligned with funding agency guidelines.

5) Proofread and edit proposal drafts for clarity, grammar, and consistency.

6) Coordinate the submission process, including assembling final proposal packages,completing necessary forms, and adhering to submission deadlines.

7) Maintain a comprehensive database of grant opportunities, tracking submission
deadlines and outcomes.

8) Assist in the post-award administration process, including project reporting and
compliance with funding agency requirements.

9) Stay updated on current trends and best practices in grant proposal development and research administration.

Qualifications:

1) Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., social sciences, public health, economics, sociology) is required. A master's degree is preferred.

2) Prior experience in grant proposal development, research administration, or related fields is highly desirable.

3) Strong research skills, including the ability to conduct literature reviews, analyze research findings, and synthesize information.

4) Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.

5) Attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

6) Proficiency in using research databases, reference management software, and
Microsoft Office Suite.

7) Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

8) Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

9) Ethical conduct and adherence to research integrity principles
