Job Description
The role is responsible for driving policy and advocacy strategies focused on the value of innovation, healthcare transformation, and sustainable access to company’s focused vaccine portfolio and other strategic areas. The role will proactively develop public affairs strategies and drive public-private partnerships aligned with Takeda’s priorities. This position will support in leading and managing policy, external relations across Government, Trade Associations, Bilateral and multilateral organisations, NGOs, multi-stakeholder consortium/alliances and other relevant organisations/stakeholders.
Public Affairs & Policy Strategy Development & Execution for Vaccines
- Develop and articulate strategies, priorities, and an actionable plan for vaccine.
- Establish and nurture relationships and engagements with pivotal stakeholders government officials, industry bodies, and non-governmental organizations.
- Propose initiatives to elevate community awareness, exploring opportunities for MOUs emphasizing strategic collaboration with health management entities and NGOs.
- Design and implement a comprehensive long-term Public Affairs strategy tailored to vaccine portfolio, incorporating cross-functional actions.
- Engage with stakeholders and influencers to uncover mutual interests or converging agenda items.
- Systematically map the healthcare landscape, drawing actionable insights for vaccine.
- Brief the Country Leadership Team on emerging government policies and regulations, suggesting anticipated changes to align organizational strategies with local needs.
- Communicate with Business Units and related cross functions regarding policy updates or ongoing engagement, enabling the capture of opportunities and risk mitigation.
- Enhance expertise on healthcare policies pertinent to the pharmaceutical sector in the vaccine space, focusing on the national health roadmap, public procurement policies, reimbursement frameworks, health regulations, and their direct and indirect implications.
Support Communication Strategy Development focused on public relations/government matters for Vaccines
- Supporting external corporate brand building across external environments, to enhance and reinforce company’s positioning and reputation among stakeholders w.r.t. vaccine.
- Collaborate with Communication team in creating and developing associated strategic communication strategies, plans and narratives that align with the company strategy, ensuring that the approach of ‘putting patients at the center’ is integral to communications activities.
- Support communications response for issues management processes w.r.t vaccine, aligning with Corporate Communication, Vaccine Franchise, Medical Affairs and other functions, as appropriate. Develop appropriate monitoring and response systems (e.g. media/ social media).
Contribution to PTRB
- Monitor new governmental initiatives, prospective legal amendments, and other significant developments. Proactively identify healthcare trends and trajectories.
- Draft a roster of crucial stakeholders and formulate an engagement blueprint for Dengue vaccine launch preparedness, future National Immunization Program and other reimbursement and insurance schemes (both Government, Private and Philanthropic).
- Strategize on engaging external stakeholders to induce policy changes through coalition-building, campaigns, and calls-to-action for Vaccines.
- Collaboratively devise campaigns and events with cross-functional teams.
Craft local value propositions congruent with the healthcare policy landscape.
