Description
ATREE is seeking a passionate and dynamic Project Manager to lead a community-centric Lake Restoration project in Bangalore. This role combines hands-on ecosystem restoration with nature education and stakeholder engagement to foster biodiversity conservation and sustainable urban ecosystems.
Duration: 6 months with an option to extend, depending on project needs.
Responsibilities
- Project Management: Oversee day-to-day operations of the lake restoration project, including budget management, resource allocation, and team coordination.
- Nature Education: Design and implement nature education programs for local schools, communities, and stakeholders, focusing on biodiversity, ecology, and sustainable water management.
- Reporting & Documentation: Prepare regular progress reports, presentations, and project documentation for internal and external stakeholders, including donors and partners.
Qualifications
- A Master’s degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, Conservation, or a related field or equivalent experience in project management.
- Experience in project management, preferably in environmental conservation or urban ecology projects.
- Proven ability to design and execute environmental education and outreach programs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in stakeholder engagement and community collaboration.
- Familiarity with lake ecosystems, biodiversity conservation, and restoration techniques is an asset.
- Ability to undertake field work.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of local languages (Kannada) and a strong understanding of Bangalore and Urban Ecology.
- Experience in data analysis, report writing, co-ordination.
- Facilitating nature interpretation activities.
- Skills in GIS, data analysis, and scientific report writing.
