HelpAge India is a leading charitable organization that has been working with and for older people in India for over 45 years. It runs healthcare, agecare, livelihood, disaster response and digital empowerment programs throughout the country and advocates for the elder cause. It became the first and only Indian organization to be honored with the ‘UN Population Award 2020’ for its exemplary work in the field of aging, recognition of the organization’s outstanding contribution to population issues, and efforts in the realization of older persons' rights in India's. We have been awarded highest CRISIL VO1A grading for excellence in operations and high credibility. 

We are now looking for a suitable candidate for the position of Project Coordinator for Project ‘Saarthak’ - a community-based initiative for mental well-being of older people.  This project is being implemented in 18 states of the country, in collaboration with technical partners in each state. The aim of the project is to promote the psychological well-being of the elderly by strengthening community-based mental health care support through customized training modules for the non-specialist health workforce, institutional caregivers, and informal caregivers in the community.   

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for implementing the project as outlined.
  • Engage with key stakeholders mapped for the project implementation.
  • Mapping the sites/ locations for the project activities along with the Project Executives in each state.
  • Support in organizing mental health workshops and meetings as per the project plan.
  • Coordinate with functional departments (Finance, IT HR, and Procurement) for project implementation.
  • Undertake visits to project locations and monitor the activities.
  • Document the progress of performance indicators committed under the projects.
  • Develop quality monthly, quarterly and annual progress report including best practices, case studies and other project related documents.
  • Undertake any other activities and responsibilities as reasonably required by the project and organization. 

Qualifications and Skills

  • Graduate in Public Health / Healthcare Management / Psychology or related fields.
  •  2-5 years of professional experience of managing programs, and experience with stake holder engagement.
  • Familiarity with experience using M&E data in program management.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, and working knowledge of regional language.
  • Willing to travel extensively
  • Good computer skills, including use of Internet, MS Office.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player. 

Reporting

Administrative reporting: Mission Head Health, Delhi
Functional reporting: Project Manager, Mental Health, Delhi
