About HCL Foundation
HCLFoundation is the corporate social responsibility arm of HCLTech in India. It drives sustainable development programs focused on Education, Health, Skill Development, Livelihood, Environment, and Disaster Risk Reduction. The foundation implements flagship initiatives such as Samuday, Uday, My Clean City, Harit, and Sports for Change.
Sports for Change Initiative
Sports for Change is a key initiative of HCLFoundation, promoting sports as a tool for personal and social development. The initiative focuses on:
- Increasing access to sports at the grassroots level.
- Identifying, training, and nurturing young sports talent from disadvantaged communities.
- Organizing regional and national-level sports competitions.
- Awarding Sports Scholarships for outstanding performers.
- Engaging HCL employees as volunteers in sports development programs.
Since its inception, 6,500+ students have been trained in various sports like athletics, karate, chess, carrom, badminton, volleyball, football, and kabaddi. The initiative has led to 100 Sports Scholarships and participation in national-level tournaments.
Annual National Sporting Event HCLFoundation launched an Annual National-Level Sporting Event under Sports for Change in 2016. The event selects top sports talent through regional qualifiers, with sports scholarships awarded to exceptional performers. Scholarships cover:
- Coaching & Training
- Sports Gear & Club Membership
- Nutrition Support
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and manage government schemes related to sports.
- Create monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports.
- Develop case studies on beneficiaries.
- Conduct research on high-performance sports indicators.
- Implement fitness and skill assessment standards.
- Plan and execute District, State, Regional, and National sports competitions.
- Coordinate logistics, travel, accommodation, and food for participants.
- Network with State & District Sports Associations.
- Engage HCL employees in sports volunteering.
- Regular communication with partners and internal teams.
- Extensive travel across India.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Sports Management / M.P.Ed or equivalent degree.
- Experience: 2-4 years in sports event management with NGOs, sports foundations, or associations.
- Skills:
- Strong organizational & multitasking ability
- Excellent communication & stakeholder management
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Fluency in English is mandatory
- Sports Experience: Must have represented Kabaddi at the National or International level.
