About the Program:

The Udyamita program is a transformative initiative designed to empower 450 aspiring and existing women entrepreneurs in Bangalore through economic enablement. The program aims to enhance their entrepreneurial skills, provide comprehensive business development support, and foster a network of stakeholders to help them achieve sustainable business success.

Role Overview:

As the Program Officer, the employee will be responsible for the overall management and delivery of the program’s key milestones. The role will involve strategic planning, implementation, and monitoring of program activities to ensure the successful establishment and revenue growth of 450 women-led businesses. You will work closely with trainers, mobilizers, stakeholders, and the program management team to achieve these goals.

Key Responsibilities:

(a) Program Management & Delivery:

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive program plan that aligns with the program’s objectives and milestones.
    • Oversee the delivery of all program components, including capacity building, access to finance, market linkages, and handholding support.
    • Ensure that the program activities are delivered on time.
    • Monitor the progress of entrepreneurs in establishing their businesses and achieving revenue growth, adjusting as needed to meet targets.

(b) Stakeholder Coordination:

    • Collaborate with trainers, mobilizers, and external stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of program activities.
    • Engage with financial institutions, industry experts, market linkages, and other partners to facilitate access to resources and opportunities for the entrepreneurs.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to support the program’s objectives.

(c) Capacity Building & Support:

    • Provide guidance and support to trainers and mobilizers to ensure effective delivery of capacity-building sessions and handholding support.
    • Assist in the development and refinement of training materials, tools, and resources to meet the evolving needs of the entrepreneurs.
    • Offer direct support to entrepreneurs as needed, particularly in areas related to business planning, financial management, and market access.

(d) Target Completions:

    • Ensure that 450 women entrepreneurs successfully establish their businesses by the end of the program.
    • Track and report on the increase in revenue generated by the participating entrepreneurs through program interventions.
    • Identify and address any challenges or barriers that may hinder the achievement of program milestones.

(e) Monitoring & Evaluation:

    • Develop and implement a robust monitoring and evaluation framework to track program performance and impact.
    • Collect and analyze data on program outcomes, including the number of businesses established, revenue growth, and other key performance indicators.
    • Prepare regular reports for senior management, donors, and stakeholders, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Project Management, Social Sciences, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Experience (3-5 years) in program management, preferably within entrepreneurship development or women’s empowerment initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of entrepreneurship, business development, and market linkages.
  • Experience in managing projects with multiple components and stakeholders, with a track record of achieving program milestones.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and prepare comprehensive reports.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with the local business environment and entrepreneurial ecosystem in Bangalore is an advantage.

Recruitment Process:

  1. Applications will be shortlisted based on the specified criteria mentioned in the Job Description.
  2. Shortlisted candidates will appear for a written assignment (if required).
  3. Group Discussions may be part of the interview process for certain positions.
  4. The process could also include presentation of the assignment.
  5. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend one or more rounds of panel interview/s.

The complete process usually takes 2 to 3 weeks. Those moving to the final round of interviews will be hearing from the People & Culture team. We prefer in person meetings but in case of location distances, we are happy to meet you virtually.
