Indian School of Democracy
Vision: Redefining public leadership
Mission: Nurture principled leaders with moral courage and imagination, to work on strengthening Indian democracy through politics.
Our How: Indian School of Democracy (ISD) runs short and long programs through which we envision nurturing leaders who will be the epitome of principled leadership, and will serve the nation with a goal to reach the unreached. ISD will nurture young people for political space and create pathways for them to serve through politics after our programs.
Three foundations of our programs:
- Relevant hard skills such as policy analysis, communications, negotiations, constitutional law, mobilization, public finance etc.
- Inner transformation through immersion in the several realities of India, personal practices of reflection and discipline and development of personal leadership
- A community of peers and mentors, leading to sustained and collective impact in public space
Role of Program Manager
As an organization, our theory of change is to nurture young political leadership through our flagship programs - Democracy Express, She Represents, The Good Politician, and our upcoming program, ‘Politics 101’ (which will be launched in 2024). Each program is carefully designed and curated to meet the needs of our target audiences. For ISD, these programs and the quality of learning we provide are extremely important and they build the identity we carry. Our programs are non-partisan and invite a politically and demographically diverse audience. Beyond in-house sessions and content, we also invite expert practitioners, politicians, and academics to provide depth and rigour in all our programs.
